There were too many Titans invading the district and Commander Pixis ordered a retreat of all soldiers. "No!" Mikasa shouted back, the child now clinging at her back, arms around her neck. She desperately removed the stacks of wooden beams and stones to save a woman beneath the rubble. "I'm not leaving you!" The woman was the mother of the child Mikasa was carrying.

She had never thought for a moment she would see Lance Corporal Levi standing in front of her looking vulnerable, helpless and teary-eyed. She was thunderstruck.

"It was a mistake." Months before this moment, he was happy. Happy that he lived in the same castle with this girl and his squad. Happy that he gets to kiss her whenever he wanted, when no one was looking... (It was a mistake...) Yeah, right. Pathetic.

"Ackerman!" Corporal Levi shouted as an aberrant titan grazed her leg with its unusually sharp fingernails as she swung in front of it, distracting the titan and saving the soldier that was about to be devoured in its hand. She grunted as pain shot up her leg, but she didn't stop her assault on the titan. (One-shot).

Canon!verse one-shot where Levi falls asleep in a stable and Mikasa loses her handkerchief in said stable. No overt romance, but if you look closely there's a hint of it somewhere (i hope) (if I've done it properly) (the worst parts of writing a fic is writing the summary) Enjoy!
