I was born and raised in a small town that is nestled in the southeastern corner of Alabama. My father owned (and still owns) a farm equipment manufacturing company, and I grew up performing various jobs within the firm. I continued to work for the family company while attending a local community college, but decided to join the Air Force at the age of 21. So off I went to begin my new adventure and experience something beyond the little world in which I was raised. I spent the next eight years of my life (until the age of 29) serving as a linguist, reporter and analyst for the Air Force, but eventually decided to leave the service and return to the family company. I now serve as the company's purchasing manager and network administrator (a role I was saddled with following the completion of my degree in information technology management). Over the last several years, I have fallen in love with reading, writing and creative pursuits in general. In fact, this hobby has come to define me as a person more so than anything else in my life, and I intend to devote the remainder of my life to further developing this skill. |
