A series of interconnected shorts detailing the growth of a relationship, with all the warm fuzzies, complexities, and obstacles therein. Mostly taking place during the time skips between seasons of RWBY. I try to stay fully cannon compliant, at least through season 6.

Inspired by Coeur Al'Aran's Professor Arc story, this asks the simple question: What if Jaune had actually attended the Vacuo Academy for Gifted Youths as he claimed? Between a fake resume, a sociopath for a partner, criminal contacts, White Fang agents, and overall bad luck... it's going to take everything he's got keep his cover at Beacon.

When he was accepted at Beacon, Jaune expected a number of things to happen: He'd get stronger, he'd get a girlfriend and he'd live up to his family's reputation as a hero. Not once did it cross his mind that he'd adopt a baby faunus. At least he's getting more than just a child out of the ordeal...

Jaune always wanted to become a huntsman, a hero. Then the fire happened and he was left alone, orphaned with a little girl barely 4 yrs old. Now he's off to Beacon, intent on becoming a Huntsman, but not to be a hero. He will carve out a stable life for his little sister, one devoid of the pain and suffering they've had to experiance.

Bounty hunter, mercenary, assassin, contract killer... Huntsman. Any profession in a field of conflict leaves much to desire, but Jaune prefers the term bounty hunter, and sometimes mercenary. Taking bounty requests and missions from legal and illegal sources, Jaune always ensure that he survives and his rewards collected.

Kept a secret from the world, the son of Artemis finds himself swept up in a quest he didn't ask for and a war he doesn't want to fight. Along his journey, he meets both friends and enemies who could mean the difference between life and death as he tries to find his place in the world. Rewrite of Broken Vows.
