![]() Author has written 6 stories for Left 4 Dead, BioShock, Dark Souls, Kingdom Hearts, and Purge, 2013. Summary of myself I like to think of myself as a descent amateur writer, but even though I think that, reality may think be vastly different. I am a (insert subject), and I like (insert activity here). Could be best described by friends as the local somewhat creepy/somewhat insane giant walking around, with me being considered a giant at (insert organization) for weighing (too much) and standing at ( a height somewhere in the human range) Favorite Manga/Games: Honestly, there are too many to count, although I guess Kingdom Hearts and Dark Souls in the video games category and Soul Eater and Attack on Titan in the manga/anime category. All of them are insanely awesome, and, well, just have to be seen to be believed. Hobbies: I like writing, although my attention span frequently drifts off to something else entirely, say after thinking about a cute romance to the Zombie Apocalypse in Maryland. I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction. Finished Stories: The Last of A Sisterhood-Game-Bioshock 2 Monsters-Game- Left 4 Dead (Dear god does this one suck. I only keep it around to show how much I have grown and how bad I can be if not careful) Honor to A memory-a Kingdom Hearts fanfic starring one of my favorite characters, Lexaeus Final Moments-Not technically complete, but there is one standalone story in it that I hope everyone considers worth reading. Works in Progress Cycles of Destruction-Oh boy, this is the big one. Not much to it so far, but I have a lot more planned for it, including multiple arcs, enhanced snarkiness (at some point), epic battles, and a few mind fucks here and there. -For those curious, I have made it my goal in this story to integrate the lore of Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2 into a cohesive whole that actually makes sense. That is actually what is taking so damn long to come out with updates because, while the lore of Dark Souls is a wonderful, beautiful puzzle to solve, the lore of Dark Souls 2 is a clusterfuck of confusing pieces that rarely come together to make up the whole story. Hell, continuing on with the metaphor, I'd say Dark Souls 2 lore is more like somebody got one half of a puzzle from the Dark Souls series and then threw half of another random puzzle into there. And then set it on fire. Scholar of the First Sin and the other DLC helped clear up the half assedness of Dark Souls 2, but the problem is still there, and I'm having a hell of a time clearing it up. Now, onto certain details of the story. Without going into spoilers, I will say this: Dark Souls 1 lore automatically wins by default. By this I mean that, if there is contradictory information between the two, I will automatically go with the first game's lore. Yes, I realize that this goes against my whole "integration" venture I was just speaking about, but I've come to the realization that I just can't justify so much that is in Dark Souls 2 Secondly, there are a few things from Dark Souls 2 that I've decided make no bloody sense in the grand scheme of things in my AU, and in this avenue, I will just declare a few things of Dark Souls II that I am just going to ignore. I will mention this in the chapters' Author's notes whenever something is brought up, but this will just be a complete list. Note that if you guys see something that I screwed up on or can easily be rectified, just pm me and we'll see what's up. 1. Humanity: I've thought long and hard on this, and I can think of absolutely no reason for humanity to not be known to the Dark Souls world other than the developers said so. Yes, I know the human effigy fulfills the role of Humanity in Dark Souls II, but it does so without any form of understanding the substantial lore that built on top of the first game. The only reason I think the changed Humanity to human effigies in Dark Souls 2 is that, from a game play perspective, it is a bit more convenient. However, it maims and wounds the lore of Dark Souls 1 without adding anything in return and fails to offer a good reason for its own existence, and thus I have decided the Dark Souls 1 Humanity system is still a go in my world. 2. Geography: Forget Dark Souls II geography and the horse it rode in on. This applies for both Drangleic and the outside world. Not only does it rarely make any sense, it often contradicts itself and what little of the first game is brought up. As it stands, I'm making my own map of the Dark Souls world to better reflect what the game implies about the world from civilization descriptions and areas. (Yes, I know the first game rarely speaks of the outside world's geography and positioning, but when it does, it at least isn't self contradictory. |
