![]() Author has written 6 stories for Evangelion. updated: 12. 7. 2015 Now that I'm not dead, or half dead, or whatever you'd call a slump of almost a year or so without an update, it's probably a proper time to update this silly profile of mine. If I never actually update anything this might as well be the last time I'll update this profile. I'm still the same person, shipper with a knack for one-shots and not the most refined writing skills you'd find around this fandom. This is also really ironic of me to say because I never really wrote a single proper shipfic. I kind of like experimentation, and that's probably what it all came down to. And now that I simply can't connect with the person who wrote all of those stories, I don't think that I'll ever be in a good position to finish some of my stories. I know I just said that I'm the same person as before, but at the same time, that's really not true from the writing perspective. All the ideas and inspirations from the time all seem transparent to me. I wouldn’t say I’m any better or worse than I was, but now that I can zone out of my persona because when I read some of the things I wrote I really do feel like it’s not me who wrote it. So I might as well tell you what I think of it right now to save you the trouble of reading to things that are maybe not even worth it (even though I do appreciate all the people that did, you people have all of my love, and I can’t thank you enough for all the kind words); Significance remains my most successful story, and I think it’s for a reason, even though I might not have recognized it before. It’s short, easy and there’s nothing too ambiguous about it – you won’t feel any smarter or dumber after it. It’s a simple study of Rei and some cute thrown it to balance it all out. It’s also one of the few stories I felt satisfied with after I revisited them. It’s Lonely at the Top remains second, and it’s kind of awkward because it was my first one, and I can’t say I got any better after it. I think I had a good idea, even though I made some poor mistakes along the way. I wouldn’t say there’s anything inherently wrong with it, but I’ll admit that there’s enough room for improvement. But at the end of it, I think it managed to pull it off, and if that’s enough for you, then I’d still recommend it. Movies Night is my definition of a wasteful story. If you like this kind of thing, you’ll probably enjoy it. But I have to admit that I do like it. There’s no ambition to it, but it’s easy and readable enough to merit a compliment or two. And I think that my “criticism” of third movie is incorporated in a cute way. Should’ve slicked to one-shots... I still like Unwanted Passenger, and I’d love to update it, but “joys” of life and lack of spirit prevent me from clicking on MS Word to end it all. Maybe I will, there’s only 2 chapters left I think.. so not all is lost. One day, maybe. I really wouldn’t recommend the rest. Only if you really love me, but even then, I don’t think you’ll find anything resembling me or my other stories. I can’t connect with the idea that bound me to writing those two, so I probably won’t update it, ever. I’m sorry if that disappoints you. There’s still ideas in my head, but there’s also too much happening around my head. If you liked some of my contributions to this fandom I can’t thank you enough. I had fun doing it, and if you had fun reading it, we were in a good place. Maybe I’ll never update again, so you can count this as my goodbye to you, you lovely soul. Best wishes and best luck, -H |
