Tired and disillusioned by society, Mr Darcy decides to take a vacation, but most certainly not of the kind one would expect from a man of his consequence. No, to avoid turning bitter he decides it's time for a change and a drastic one. What he has not counted on is, that in doing so he could lose his heart. Sparks fly when Miss Elizabeth Bennet takes work as a governess at Pemberley. Will deceptions, highwaymen, and one rambunctious eleven-year-old girl bring Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy together or tear them apart?

What if Jane and Elizabeth had not been in Meryton to meet Wickham? What if they had spent some additional time with Darcy and Bingley that day instead? And what if in a moment of weakness, or courage, Darcy allowed Elizabeth to glimpse his growing feelings for her? How might all of their paths have been different from the story we know and love?

Mr Darcy comes across Elizabeth on Oakham Mount watching the sunrise. He escorts her part way home and they share a conversation.

The famous letter never reached its target. It is now 1814, and Elizabeth Bennet is desperate, desperate enough to seek out the man she scorned and accept a proposal from three years before... even if Mr. Darcy is not quite the man she remembers. AU, Regency.

A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

Set shortly after Jane falls ill upon going to Netherfield Park, Elizabeth follows and injures herself on the way, only to be rescued by one Mr. Darcy. A divergence of the events in the original Pride and Prejudice.

What if Elizabeth had overheard the conversation about herself and her family while she was staying at Netherfield? I always thought there should be a scene at the end of the miniseries where we actually saw things get resolved outright between Margaret and Mr. Thornton. I am expanding on this idea after a great beginning. Reviews are most welcome!

When Elizabeth accepted Mr. Darcy's proposal of marriage, Mr. Bennet complicated his consent with a condition, known only to himself and Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth must spend the season in London, associating with the first circles of society as Mr. Darcy's fiancee. If Elizabeth is unhappy with the experience, Mr. Bennet will withdraw his consent. Will their love withstand the test?

What if the Bennets' situation was worse than was generally known? What if to save her family from a life in the poor house, Elizabeth decided she had no other option but to marry Mr Collins. How would Darcy react when he discovers that the woman he is in love with is engaged to another man? And more importantly what will he do about it?

When Mr. Darcy comes to Netherfield for a short visit, Mr. and Mrs. Bingley think it wise to mind his comfort and, of course, Elizabeth's.

Darcy did not make it to Ramsgate to prevent the elopement and so did not go to Netherfield. How will he react to Elizabeth now, eighteen months after Georgiana's elopement, when he has suffered from such a great betrayal of trust?

Our dear couple is full of their own prejudices and not a little pride. What would happen if Elizabeth insulted Fitzwilliam first? What if he retaliated? What would happen after the Meryton Assembly ball? Rated T because I have not gotten very far into the story, but there will be nothing beyond kisses, amazing kisses, but only kisses for our couple.

What if Darcy had run into Elizabeth immediately after she had rejected Mr. Collins? What if Elizabeth was able to prevent Darcy from taking Bingley away? And what if Darcy discover that Elizabeth would marry for only the deepest love? Rating may change as the story develops.

For Elizabeth, the joy of her marriage and honeymoon are followed by the demands of becoming Mrs. Darcy, all while helping her shy new younger sister come out into society. Georgiana must deal with more suitors than she expected, when she fears nothing more than once again being persuaded to think she is in love with the wrong man.

This was just a short little one-shot imagining the conversation between Thornton and Margaret after she went home with him on the northbound train, but it turned into a full fledged story. Darcy never succeeded in finding Wickham and Lydia on time. Wickham left the young girl pregnant and fled to the continent. The Bennet family is ruined. Too ashamed to stay near Longbourn, Elizabeth decides to leave her family to become a governess in London.

Margaret finds Mr. Thornton after their confrontation at the exhibition allowing them to develop a tentative post-proposal friendship. Will their relationship be strong enough to overcome the heartache and deceit that is to come? Both book and mini-series based.

What if Elizabeth met Darcy once more at Rosings after reading his letter?

Elizabeth is knocked unconscious during her walk with the Colonel at Rosings. This "what if" starts before Darcy has the chance to propose. This story is about the ensuing journey the characters have to go through to fall in love. Incomplete, as yet.

Mr. Bennet, faced with the likelihood of his untimely death, must rely on a long forgotten pact to save his family's future. Meanwhile, members of the Darcy-Fitzwilliam clan are enduring the censure of the ton after Georgiana Wickham nee Darcy is abandoned by her husband just weeks after their marriage. A bit dark at first, but I promise a HEA for our favorite couple.

What if Georgiana had been at Netherfield? How would it change the story?

One week after the Netherfield Ball, Lizzy receives a letter from Georgiana Darcy informing her that Mr. Darcy is gravely ill and asking for her to come to London to be with him.

What if Mr. Bingley had not followed Darcy's advice, but followed his heart instead? How different would things be for Darcy and Elizabeth if Jane and Bingley had become engaged right after the Netherfield Ball and Bingley hadn't gone to London?
