The concept of the 'do-over' is used in, at the very least, hundreds of Harry Potter stories. Here's my own take, using a HP character that actually has a good reason for getting another chance to make things better.

Whoever thought that he, Severus Snape would be the perfect man to raise a child, was sick in the head and needed to be locked up and his brain removed and used for potions as punishment for even thinking of such a stupid thing...Lily thinks otherwise.

AU Third Year: He spent twelve years in hell for a crime he did not commit. Sent there without the courtesy of a trial. Betrayed by his friends and allies. Now he has broken out. He will find and catch that rat and then, they will pay!

Summary: Sheldon reluctantly takes Penny along to a conference in Las Vegas. Epiphanies are had, stars are gazed, cards are counted, shenanigans are shenaniganed.

But in no friggen universe is Leonard not a dick. He's got snide and spiteful on lock down, but you know, whatever, Howard doesn't judge. A very short story about Howard's not so fragile thoughts on his friends.

Taken out of context, John Watson leads a terrifying life. You have to wonder what those poor women he dates thinks of it, especially if John decides to try keeping one away from Sherlock, and Sherlock decides that it'd be best if he could get rid of her

Hindsight is 20/20, but when Harry's last steps into the forest set him back further than he'd ever thought, he never realised how grateful he'd be to have Snape there to help too. Mentor/guardian fic, time travel, but not cliched.

A small change in Harry's past has knock on effects thoughout his time at Hogwarts. A 'what if' type of story starting with his first year, and the changes that a smart Harry would cause.

Summary: Adult birds push their fledglings out of the nest to teach them to fly. John Winchester parents by a similar philosophy. Dean finds himself far from home and struggling to succeed.

After a rough day battling false Gods Colonel O'Neill returns home to find someone waiting for him and this person knows everything about him including things his teammates don't know and Jack really wished they never learn about.
