"They're back" I don't want to look yet, can't look yet. I'm petrified of what I might see. But my heart eventually wins over my head, and I steel myself and lift my eyes to meet whom I've been longing for all these months...and now it's as if I'm frozen in time. A One-Shot on my interpretation of Katniss and Peeta's reunion in Mockingjay.

"I wake to a crash. Where Peeta's warm body should be beside me, breathing steadily in the light of dawn, there is a cold empty space." Katniss comforts Peeta on one of his bad days. Post MJ, pre-epilogue oneshot.

"The mutts suddenly don't seem as terrifying and the thought of losing Peeta escapes her mind. Only Peeta could calm her down like this, when she's already so lost in her own mind. Peeta coaxes her through the nights, and in return, she deals with the struggles the days bring for them both." Katniss and Peeta still struggle years after the Games. But they know it'll get better.

"I look at him. He has wrapped his arms around himself, holding so tightly it's as if he is afraid he will burst apart. His eyes are still closed, and the tears haven't stopped." Everlark. AU. Both Peeta and Katniss are rescued from the Quell. Katniss is concerned when Peeta doesn't turn up after being told that his family died in the bombing of Twelve.

Katniss is just trying to enjoy a nice Spring day, when she sees smoke coming from her house. Realizing Peeta is having an episode, Katniss tries to not get in the midst of his flames, while ultimately trying to get her Peeta back.

My story started as a short expansion of the last chapter of Suzanne Collins' Mockingjay and my imagined scenario of Peeta and Katniss growing back together. I had so much fun that it morphed in to more about the two taking it through the epilogue.
