![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Hello, My name's Marie, though some have taken a habbit of calling me Rita. My favourite book series is *drums please* 'A Song of Ice and Fire', I read it a few years before the TV series came out, and once 'A Dance With Dragons' was out, I literally ran to the shop, and to the cashier too for that matter. I mostly read and write fantasy. I like other authors (except George R.R. Martin, who is a genius); Robin Hobb, Steven Erikson, various Terry (refering to Terry Brooks, Terry Pratchett and Terry Goodkind), naturally J.R.R. Tolkien and many others that I can't name from the top of my head (could if I tried though). When it comes to what I write, it would majorly be Harry Potter stories, simply because they are so easy to write. Other authors, as the ones listed above have a very complex world, starting from their own maps to their own histories and events. For example, if you read 'A Song of Ice and Fire' there is the 5 kings war, 300 years prior Aegon the Conqueror took over Westros, and a few years back Robert won the Iron throne. Now to who didn't read the whole series it sounds like a mixture of random words and supposly 'events' that don't make any sense. This is just the start, every house, literally a kin, a family, have their own goals, histories, issues even. All along struggling for power. There are hundreds and thousands of characters that show up once in the 1st book and in the 5th have thier own viewpoints. The story is so complicated that the reader has hard time to keep track of it (sometimes I wonder how the authors keep track of their own stories to be honest), so writing in these genre is impossible, and even if it was, the stories of inexperienced authors like us, here in fanfiction.net, will never be as good as the real authors, so we might as well go for something easier, and perhaps, realistic. Now, if you bothered reading the paragraph above you will know that I personally consider the Harry Potter world very simple. There is a school for wizards and witches, with a few subjects, 4 houses in which you can be placed according to your talents. There are Muggles, folk without magic, and the wizards get jobs in either; keeping a shop or an inn, working for the government 'The Ministery of Magic', playing Quiddich, being a Healer in the hospital, or perhaps becoming a teacher. Maybe there are a few more options that I did not consider. But this is rather simple. Now that you've heard my personal opinions you may check some of my stories, if you'd like: I mostly write Hermione/other character stories because Hermione is so easy to manipulate, so to say. You can make her nearly everything you want, hopefully not going too OOC. You can easily make her workoholic and depressive, maybe send some Death Eaters against her and make her mad. Make her a caring nice person, or perhaps a non-emotional shell of a person. You can control her and the world around her. When it comes to other characters, they are more strictly built; Sirius for example, has to go to Azkaban, otherwise he will end up being a completely another character, personality building events cannot be skipped, unless you want an OOC. Stories: In a Long Time - Hermione/Draco, will be reposted soon under the name 'The Boy Who Scarred the World', concentrating on the people coming back to school after the war, having to face a marriage law (many people are already sick of this marriage law thing, but some that like it may read it, others check the other stories listed below). Draco Malfoy edger to clear the Malfoy name confronts Kingsly Shacklebolt, the Minister, regarding the population losses during the war, the problem has a solution, but the drastic actions taken by the Ministery will have consequences. So far this story has around 10,000 words, however, it needs revision and beta-ing, some parts are OOC and need to be fixed. Unspeakable - Hermione/Sirius, the story is based many years after the war, Hermione is 32, working as an Unspeakble in the Mystery Department in the Ministery of Magic, after quite a few years of work Hermione brings Sirius Black from behind the vile, why so, how so, and what for? What will be the consequences of such an action? This story too has 10,000 words and is yet to be published, it is in a better condition than the previous one but has never been Beta-ed, if anyone wants to work with it, please contact me. Please, He Said - a temporary name for the story before I come up with something better, a yet another Hermione/Draco pairing, once again based of the war consequences: Hermione walks the streets during a snow storm looking for a late Christmas present, she stumbles across a dying homeless man, who happens to be Draco Malfoy, with some Christmas inspired need to help and a lot of pity Hermione decided it's time for a good deed and picks up the dying Malfoy. This story has only a little over 1,150 words and will take sometime to shape-up and develope a plot, so it will be some time before it's published. Verona is Waiting - A Story Lost in Time - They are chasing her, she has nowhere to hide, it was her only chance of survival, jumping off that cliff. Luck wasn't on her side though. She didn't know how that happened really, did she crush onto the rocks beneath the cliff? Did she drown in the black water of that lake? Was she already dead when her body reached the surface? It didn't matter really, what mattered was that she was in this Unbroken version of Hogwarts somewhere, stuck between life and death, with no chances of escaping into either. And even more importantly, how would she be able to move on and find peace with Tom Riddle breathing at her back? A story I've just started writing, and honestly, before I finished the 1st chapter I didn't even know Hermione was going to die. I was planning on her survival. Maybe some travelling through time somehow, but this took me by surprise. The story currently has around 4,700 words and needs a beta, like every other story. If you would like to beta, or just look though any of these stories please send me a message. ^^ Enjoy! For the fun stuff: 1. What is your motto? Don’t Wake Me by Skillet (XD sounds like my motto) 2.
