Darcy has been very brooding lately, & Bingley thus thinks it necessary to cheer him up by inviting him along to Netherfield. But instead of enjoying himself Darcy only gives offence & even tries his amiable friend's patience to an as yet unprecedented extent.

When her father falls ill, Lizzy is forced to marry the seemingly harmless Mr. Collins. Unfortunately not all is as it seems with the parson, and a simple marriage of convenience turns dangerous. Lizzy finds shelter in a great Lady who has suffered similar humiliations, but when her nephew comes to visit, the game begins to change.

This is my modern version of JA's masterpiece. Lizzy is a very accomplished and talented young Puerto Rican girl with a secret, while Darcy is a successful, handsome, wealthy tycoon. I changed some of their relations but the characters have basically the same personalities as in the book. I added a great brother for Lizzy and other nice relatives. It's a romantic comedy. Enjoy.

The only downside to Lizi's summer job, at the shore, is the restaurant's snobby owner. Maybe if Darcy had read Pride and Prejudice, he wouldn't be making the same mistakes as his namesake. Then again, Lizi has read it and still fails to consider there may be more to Darcy than her first impression. Nor does she recognize his growing attraction to her.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is delayed until November for his 1812 trip to Rosings, so he has not seen or heard any news of the inhabitants of Hertfordshire for a year. He encounters something at Rosings that leaves him badly shaken, and starts him to a journey he could not have imagined.

Darcy's horse casts a shoe while riding to Pemberley which causes him to miss encountering Elizabeth Bennet who is touring the estate. Thus he is unable to show her his change in behaviour, fails to learn of her improved opinion of him, fails to meet the Gardiners, and fails to learn what happens to Lydia. This is not about Elizabeth and Darcy, it is about Colonel Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth. It is complicated and bittersweet; there is tragedy and maybe a little hope and love. Not for everyone. Rated M.
