Shaw is tied up by enemy agents and Root comes to her rescue... or does she? The events afterwards all build up to Shaw looking at Root in a different light. Really pretty much pure smut and mildly N/C.

Spoilers for and probably won't make sense if you haven't seen the promo for the new episode Honor Among Thieves. RootxShaw. Jealous!Root. I just wrote this quickly because I couldn't sleep until I got it out of my head.

Shaw is not good at morning after, neither is Root, maybe they'll never be.

The Machine is on the cusp of bringing Samaritan down. Root is also reaching what she feels is the end, just as Shaw starts to think she might want a beginning. Angsty Root is angsty and Shaw responds like, well, Shaw. Rating K now for language, might change later. Title is from the song "Echo" by Jason Walker, inspiration for where Root is coming from emotionally.

Set some time after "Aletheia". Root needs Shaw's help for a mission, and a discussion occurs about possible ways to stop Decima and Samaritan. Oh, and a kiss... for the greater good, of course.
