 I'm currently working on (the design-stage of) four fanfics: The Will to Meaning (rationalist!Gurren Lagann): HPMOR-style AU where everyone gets an intelligence buff. Except it's Gurren Lagann. Sufficiently Analyzed Magic (rational!Madoka Magica; tranhumanist science fiction and fantasy): ditto, except things go a bit more off the rails of canon. Also, no wishes -- because either that's a bit too ridiculously overpowered, or it basically just turns the whole thing into an essay on FAI. Which would actually be kind of interesting, but it's mutually exclusive with what I have in mind. Tengen Toppa Nanoha Magica (Rebellion Story reconstruction, Gurren Lagann style): After the ending to Rebellion Story, magic is basically Spiral Power. So I thought I'd use this to reconstruct Rebellion Story. Except in addition to our main characters antagonist of Homura, Madoka, and Kyubey, we've got people like Nanoha, Lelouch, Kamina, [REDACTED, and [REDACTED] as our core cast.Basically, you know how Nanoha is a fusion of magical girl series and super robot series tropes? Well, this is sort of like that. Except the magical girl series is Madoka Magica, and the super robot series is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The Sacred Darkness (working title) (Star Wars prequel trilogy deconstruction, may or may not be rational!AU): What is the Dark? Power, the will to power, power itself in man. BTW, I'm "_ShadowElemental" (without quotes) over on reddit -- every reasonable case-permutation of "ShadowElemental" was taken, so I just stuck an underscore at the beginning. |
