At the behest of Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape is forced to commit a deplorable act against one who should have been under his protection. Bound by Dark Magic, he and Hermione Granger must learn to trust one another and themselves as they work together to thwart the dark plots surrounding them.

It's ten years post war, and Severus Snape has healed. He is no longer the bitter and resentful man he was before the end of the war. The only thing he is now is slightly annoyed that a castle is trying to rule his life for him, and he's lonely. So, what will happen when said meddling castle delivers Hermione Granger and her baby daughter to his doorstep? Nothing much Canon here.

Following the war, Hermione Granger's life has not settled down as she thought it would. She has not faced her parents yet, they still do not know she exists. The relationship she waited so patiently for with Ron is nothing like she expected it to be. It all comes to a head when a recovering Snape is returned to Hogwarts, and she finds a very different man than she knew before.

Something awful happened to Hermione Granger at the end of the war against Voldemort, and now she's broken. Will returning to Hogwarts as an apprentice help fix her? What will it take to heal Hermione, and in the process will Severus Snape find healing himself? A very AU story that is in no way canon compliant, both Dumbledore and Snape survived the war.

Nearly seven years have passed since the War was won. In that time, Hermione Granger managed to overcome grief and hardship in order to build a life in which she felt comfortable and relatively content. A snowy night in February, however, will show her that she ought never to have given up hope on having what she thought had been lost to her forever.
