A hundred years ago, Prince Zuko succeeded in capturing Avatar Aang, and the Fire Nation achieved victory in the Hundred Year War, subjugating the other nations. Now it is the Fire Empire under the ancient Dragon Empress Azula and it rules the world with an iron fist, but new heroes, one from each surviving nation, must arise to challenge tyranny.

AU. The idea of Zuko and Katara having any sort of romantic relationship was absurd. There simply just wasn't enough time, what with investigating Aang and Toph's disappearance, winning back Zuko's throne, and quelling rebellions. Absurd, certainly, but not utterly impossible.
