Sarafina and Nala return to the Pridelands when Nala is an adolescant. Here, she meets a bethrothed Simba, but his sites are set on Nala now that she is here, and his bethrothed (Maeva) will do whatever she can to keep her spot, but she's not the only one who wants the 'new' members gone. Sarafina is also returning to an old flame. Better story than summary inside!

The story continues, new challenges follow as Judy and Nick continue to to work as partners and live in Zootopia. Nick and Judy's relationship develops as their personal lives become entangle with work as they take on a prostitution ring and have to handle the unexpected backlash against interspiecies relationship that follows.

While at Pride rock Simba copes with the death of his family while continuing to rule his Kingdom. Unaware of the fate of two of his cubs thought to be dead. Taking place after the events in the Movie, starting directly after the Gazelle concert, the building feelings they both have to each other come to a head and take an unexpected turn. While mostly a slice of life as Judy and Nick find out more about each other, and try to figure out their relationship, loose ends from the missing mammals case will eventually emerge.

A new king rises as another falls. Such is the natural course. For one individual the fall was only the beginning. After an unexpected act of mercy Scar finds himself on a rocky road towards redemption. Peace isn't to last: An old foe's return is sign that dark times lie ahead. Only through unity and understanding can the Pridelands hope to survive the greatest threat in decades.
