![]() Author has written 62 stories for Remington Steele. I have to admit that I am more than a bit stunned to realize how many fans of Remington Steele still exist thirty years after it went off the air. Less shocked, however, than I am by how many people read my stories and demand more. I am left humbled by each compliment, and have been truly honored to make many new friends since discovering the fandom for this show on the net. The first story I ever wrote for Remington Steele, was also the first fanfiction I'd ever dabbled in. In all honesty, I had not even heard of "fan fic" until after the story was nearly complete. A few days chained to my bed on doctor's orders, coupled with a Remington Steele DVD marathon inspired me to leave behind the book I was in the middle of writing and take the time to write the end I always wished I had seen - instead of the travesty of Season 5 we, the fans, were given. That story led to another, then another, and so on and so on, and eventually the revision of that first story, breaking it into two separate parts. In the meantime, my poor little ole book has been left bereft of my attentions and it seems will remain so for a while more. I have loved these characters since I was an adolescent, and continue to love them as much, if not more, three decades later. Each time I believe I have written the last of their stories, I am compelled to continue on. The characters, it seem, still have a lot of living to do, at least in my own mind. Thank you, for taking the time to read them, to appreciate them, and even criticize them. For the most effective reading, my work should be read in chronological order as many of my one off's are spun into the history of the characters later on down the line. The chronological order of what I've written are as follows: The Canon Series These stories do not stray from Canon. Bonds of Steele exists, season 5 exists... and is written through the equivalent of 22 episodes. Steele Torn & Trying to Holt On The Alternate Universe Series Toss the Twilight Zone experience of Season 5 into the proverbial trash can. These stories pick up after Steele of Approval. These stories follow Canon throughout Season 4 except for one very important difference: As many felt had happened, Laura and Remington cross that line between boardroom and bedroom, and the Mr. & Mrs. Steele feeling of that season is very much alive and well. In the AU series, anything from Bonds forward does not exist. While the INS and Keyes will appear in their lives towards the end of Season 4, there is no tuna boat wedding, no attempts to marry Clarissa, and... thank goodness... Tony Roselli does not exist. Steele Forsaken (Part 1 of 3 in the A Holt New Beginning Series) IT Could've Happened (ITCHY) Stories There's not a single series to be found in these stories, only what ifs and could have beens, that give rise to some interesting thoughts, occasional angst, some surprising honesty and a lot of romance. These stories, unlike the Canon and AU series may, or may not, follow canon and there may be some liberties taken in what I see as in or out of character for the actual characters, plot devices and poetic license may be used, and reader request will, on occasion, steer the story in a direction I had never intended to take. Fractured Steele (Post Steeled with a Kiss Pt II) Vignettes of Steele Series Under 1500 words in each chapter, the vignettes go hand-in-hand with the Canon stories - Short and sweet little glimpses into the lives of the Steele's and their children as they grow up. Vignettes of Steele: Olivia Steele with A Twist Series It’s time to UN-suspend what was presented to us a ‘reality’ in Season 5. How many of you believe, given the intimacy and hard-worked-on honesty of Season 4 – that Remington would have turned to a hooker to solve his INS issues? Let’s see a show of hands. What? No one?! After all my years of living in the Remington Steele world, that is what I have found the consensus to be. How many of you believe that Laura would have engaged with an open flirtation with Roselli (blech, yuck, ugh) while going on incessantly about a honeymoon, nonetheless? C’mon, let’s see a show of hands. No one again? That also seems to be the consensus. Think of this series as a challenge. The argument, for Roselli at least, was the producers were forced to add Jack Scalia as a cast member and the only plausible storyline was to create a ‘triangle’. Thus, we the viewers are forced to set aside what Canon tells us about our favorite characters and to just ‘buy’ what we were ‘sold.’ After all, there was no choice, right? Wrong. In this series, we are going to stick with the scripts except for three little details: 1. The hooker/marriage storyline is gone, yet the comedy of errors from Bonds of Steele remains; 2. Roselli (gag, vomit, cough) exists but he is no means competition for Laura’s affections; and, 3. We stick to what Canon tells us about these characters we know and love. Could a truly enjoyable Season 4 finale, and Season 5 have been achieved? I guess we’ll find out. Steele Bound - Revamp of Bonds of Steele (upcoming) Steele Steamy Stories For the readers who ask for more, More, MORE steam, these are just for you. Sex and nothing... well little... else. These stories may or may not be tied to an episode, and are only intended to get your temperatures rising. Reframing Steele The Holt Other World Short Series These are short series that veer off of actual episodes. They don't fit in the Canon Series or the AU Series, but took on a little life of their own. Steele Cold Facts Series Holt Out Holt Mini Series |
