Author has written 1 story for Les Miserables.

This fanfiction.net account is being used solely to post a masterpiece epic, Without Restraint, Unafraid and Free. This profile is designed to serve as an expanded summary for it as well as an explanation of intent.

Please do understand that the e-mail address on this account is not the primary one of the author; the pen name used is merely that of the main character, and no attempts will be made to identify the author on fanfiction.net itself. The story is posted elsewhere, of course. It was suggested that this sort of fic belongs on fanfiction.net and so it has been and will continue to be published here. Those of you who know the author will know where else it is being published, of course. All well-meaning reviews are very much appreciated. There will be no author's notes to respond to reviews; furthermore, the author does not take receipt of a review as an obligation to review other works. Also, if you leave a review containing a question, it may be answered but only if the review is signed to a FF.net account.

The story itself is nearly impossible to succinctly describe and summarise, especially not in the few characters allotted on the summary. This profile's explanations attempt to make the intentions of the story far clearer. It came about due to many factors -- small plotbunnies half-plotted, some silly ideas that didn't belong elsewhere, some shameless fangirling that doesn't really fit into other stories, some slashy plots that got removed from other fics, etc.

Those people who frequent Abaissé may remember the Marie-Suzette Challenge Thread. The discussion that gave rise to the thread, the thread itself, as well as subsequent conversations, had a hand in the creation of the main character of this story. Phélie is meant to be a perfectly serious Mary-Sue. She is meant to have all the qualities of a Mary-Sue, she is meant to know most of the characters and to be an authorial self-insert and all the other things that make a Sue a Sue. For those of you who love to mock Mary-Sues, I'm sure you'll have fun with this one; and even for those who dislike reading Mary-Sues it's possible you may be pleasantly surprised at what you see.

Not content with merely writing fangirl adventures in Marie-Suzette format, there is also a real story behind this. There is and will be exploration of slash relationships. Some of Victor Hugo's canon will be mentioned and played with. Not only that, there are elements of the author's shameless fangirling evident pretty much everywhere. Certain fanon tropes within this fandom as well as characters and themes crossing over from other fandoms will very likely be involved in the story. Also, the author enjoys porny scenes -- however, in compliance with the rules of this site, all sexuallyexplicit dialogue, themes, narrative, and discussion will be elided or redacted entirely from the version posted here.

In short, it is a massive epic containing a little bit of nearly everything: slash and het relationships; tragedy and comedy; serious plot and shameless fangirling. As has been said to the author: the story defies genre.

Also, the author tends to update, edit, change, and modify what she writes as she goes; she also does not tend to write her stories in a straight line. Previously-written chapters may be edited and later updated; these things will be noted in the summary and in the profile as much as can be done.

Thank you very much for coming by and reading my profile -- and the story -- and hopefully you will find the story as fun and entertaining to read as it was to write.
