You aren't reluctant to complete your task. That's absurd. You have no desire to stay here with a Henry who doesn't remember you, with an Emma who looks at you like you're friends instead of delightfully passionate mortal enemies. Regina can physically affect the world simply by making gestures. At any point in any scene in Once Upon A Time, if Regina's hands aren't visible and Emma isn't saying anything, it's possible that Regina is rubbing her fingers together, Emma's clit is throbbing, and no one is noticing. All Emma knows is that if using magic will make her like Regina, she wants no part of it. Unless… she's already like Regina.

Set right after 2x02, this story is inspired by Regina's sad look as she lets Henry go. Set to keep her promise, Regina has to find a way to get Emma and Snow back to Storybrooke, while preventing her mother from following. Of course that's more difficult than any of them might wish. And that's not even taking their growing feelings for each other into account.

As Regina watched Emma situate herself in the armchair across from her, leg propped up haphazardly on the edge as she brought the chaos of her being into Regina's room full of order and precision, the older woman found herself contemplating how much easier this all would've been if she had just approached Emma in a different way. •Emma/Regina•

There are so many things that separate Regina from Cora—and how could she forget, how could she forget—but it's the littlest things that Emma values most. [Post 2x11: Emma apologizes.] [Part 1 of "when the time is right".]

"Gone. The reality of it hit her like a punch in the gut, making her yelp and double over.
