Last Update: November 24th, 2009 oOo My Story Updates and Ideas "The Path to Destiny" -- I have removed the story from FF.N due to reasons of it needing SERIOUS revisions and my major writer's block that I would expect upset readers that might have barely started and then realize that I had basically given up after that (whew, run-on sentence!). Although the "giving up" part's not entirely true, it IS true that I have super-omega major writer's block. It's a common faulty to all starting authors here on FF.N, because when I had first joined, I had posted this story with almost no thought of the next chapter; they would all just be pointless chapters that I came up with the night before posting. So being, I've looked the story text over and it sounds very childish to me, so now I've decided to revise it as well. Please, my readers, don't fear for this story; I'll get to working on it as soon as possible, but it's most likely a LONG ways from now before it's ready... In other news, if any of you would still like to see my picture of Arabella (my OC in the story), click the link below: Love's Reminiscence (reviews) -- This is a new, revised version of my original one-shot songfic. Generally nothing of the story has changed, but I have now added in better details; it's my attempt at displaying to you all my new and updated writing style since I had first released as "My Heart Will Go On" when I was only fourteen. So, if any of you read it and like it, please review; and even if you didn't and think it could be improved in some way, review anyways. I always take constructive criticism from anyone who offers it, and I also like hearing other's input and thoughts on what I write. My Other Ideas: (separated by paragraphs and organized by priority, first being at the top of my "to-write" list) All right, so, this is my new idea: since I'm a reasonably-large fan of the Warriors series by Erin Hunter, and for about two years I've been roleplaying with the popular series at an Invisionfree site, hosted by Aurora of the North, Into the Elements. Long story short: near the beginning of my first couple of weeks there, I created a character named Willowstream, a medicine cat that had descended from a Clan named EarthClan. I tried to recreate the story of how that Clan collapsed and how Willowstream got stranded ever since then, but then I thought, "Hey, what if I had made a COMPLETE story out of this and put it here on FF.N?" I was totally psyched over the idea! I've already been thinking about this for about a year, so this should be done a bit quicker than I would normally update with, but we'll see. The working title is EarthClan's Legacy: Tears of a Willow, so this means no stealing! :) My other project I'm working on alongside the EarthClan's Legacy one is another history-filler. It's still in the Warriors category and still filling in the history of my Willowstream character at Into the Elements (see link above). Another long story short: about a year and a half ago (I think game-wise; real-time-wise I'm still trying to figure out...), I sent my character off on a journey to a faraway land into Tribe territory. It was for a plot that I had started to roll along with, but some other things happened and it was kinda left in the dust. Since it's now been so long since doing anything with the plot, like my EarthClan idea, I thought I should make a full story out of it and post it up here! The only difficult thing with this is getting into character with all of my friend's characters. Who knows - I might actually ask them to help me out a bit! But as of now, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly I want to have happen in the story. As of now, it's just a side-burner project compared to my EarthClan one. My goal is to have both posted up before spring of 2010, but maybe I can work a bit faster than that. I'll have to use as much time as I can squeeze out of my new senior year coming up. I'm still working on a title, so I'm open for suggestions if you guys have any! :) If nothing else amounts from those other stories, I haven't got any stone-set ideas yet, but I would very much like to do stuff with the Tribes from the original series of Warriors. I've always been fascinated by them, so maybe when the series begins to wrap up the history of the actual Tribes, perhaps I'll try to write some stuff about them! They may be chapter-length stories, or what-ifs, or oneshot songfics, or even a collection of oneshots altogether, and so on like that; there's ENDLESS possibilities to my reign!! But we'll see, I'll do SOMETHING for the Tribes! ;) xx Please feel free to share your thoughts on any of these with me - I'd really appreciate any encouragement I can get! But, of course, it's most definitely not going to happen anytime soon. Story development is always the first priority to fanfictions, and that's most likely where these ideas are at right now, not ready to be done for weeks, perhaps even months from now. I'll let you guys know ahead of time what place I'm at with them, though, so be sure to check back often! xx The mentioned themes and concepts of the mentioned future fanfics are (c) to their respectful authors and/or owners. However, these story ideas and its given working titles currently belong to me; if I find that anyone has stolen these ideas in ANY kind of form without express permission from myself, I will immediately send a report to FF.N Services without hesitation and your account can and most likely WILL be removed without warning. It's never nice to steal from other people, and justice will be brought if necessary. Thanks... oOo My Reviewing Style/Technique (coming soon!) oOo To My Humble Reviewers... (coming soon!) oOo Me As a Beta As of now, because I have removed my other story "The Path to Destiny" (for reasons mentioned already) that qualified me to the rank of a Beta, I'm technically not official. But, I have Beta'd before in the past and I'm still willing to anyone who requests me properly. Because my official profile can't be posted up, I'll put it here for anyone looking for my Beta services. xx Beta-Reader Profile (General) Currently: NOT ACCEPTING requests Beta Profile/Bio: I do this happily because I possess a great love for stories, simple as that. I have a history of always acing my selected work in my school English classes; I've even been complimented on multiple occasions to be a future best-selling author! I believe I know what it takes to make a story work great with various audiences, and I'm very willing to use that talent and build up others in their success. :) But now, this is a basic overview of how I "beta-read" stories: -- First things first, I read all the way through the story to get a good feel for it and what place it's at currently; Simple as that! If there are any questions of how I Beta-read and/or myself AS a Beta-Reader, don't be afraid to ask me through a Private Message! :) My Strengths: 1. Conventions Spelling, grammar, punctuation, story format, you name it! Number one priority, and I catch these VERY easily. My Weaknesses: 1. MOVING Plot Ideas I possess a good perspective of BASIC plots, but nothing too unique as to start a whole story arc. I've always struggled with these myself and I absolutely dread it... -_-;; So I'm sorry, but to require my services, you'll at least have to have an actual STORY started. I can take it from there. :) I, unfortunately, have another weakness that may require you to sit down and think some before you ask me to Beta your story... 3. TIME!! I usually take a LOT of time when it comes to Beta-ing. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing and other things related to my strengths; whenever I'm assigned something in school relating to writing papers, I usually stay up late at night trying to get it absolutely perfect. And besides just that, I've got my own life that I need to balance and am in the process of losing time to get on the computer. If you don't have that much time on your hands, I'd recommend you find someone else... Preferred: Other than that, I can tackle most stories. Not My Cup of Tea: xx Beta Preferences/Terms Content Rating - Fiction K through T ONLY Beta Experience -- Trapped Inside by Troublestripe .: For the Benefit of Whoever Reads :. Last Update: August 17th, 2009 oOo Elements of an Awesome Story Although numbered, no particular order is meant; all are equally important! #1 – GRAMMAR!! Gah, I can’t express this enough (hence the caps). And believe it or not, there are SOME people that think it's not really that necessary or important. Ha! I beg to differ! Let me put it this way: grammar and punctuation is like how you dress every day - if you dress nice and proper, people will think good things of you and will want to come and talk and associate with you; but if you dress like crap or in some way that’s just not that appealing, people will get a completely different perspective of what you might have in store for them if they talk to you, so they will instead shun you like the friendless kid in Math class. Now I know that sounds a bit judgmental and, you know, putting people into "classes" and such, but it's human nature, guys; we can't help it! That's why that myth of "first impressions aren't always everything" is so not true: it IS everything! But I hope you get the idea there: good grammar, good story, potential for a review; bad grammar, bad story, go read something else. We all want the best for our stories and want people to think good of it and good intentions from the author, so keep a good eye out for grammar. If you need any help in this area, look up some grammar machines on Google; there are TONS and all will help you! Or just have a Beta Reader look over it who has their strengths in grammar. Don't take whatever they say to fix too hard or too far; they honestly just want to help. But just to warn you: if I was your Beta and saw the many grammar errors you have, I'd get out the good 'ole "grammar bat" and beat you senseless with it first, and THEN tell you what needs fixing. Hey, it's tough, but it's efficient. :) #2 – Creativity! Other words for this could be "uniqueness", how your story is different from everyone else’s (in a good way), and so on like that. And, once again, some people manage to completely bypass this in creating their story, which eventually ends up posted with a few flamed reviews. Just goes to show... Check out this example scenario of someone’s new story and their story summary: --Note: Although most of these concepts in this example are inspired by what I've seen through experience, I did not rip this off anyone - this is randomly and completely made up by myself. Any relation to any particular user or story was unintentional and purely coincidental! xx some random title by randompeep789 xx Not only does this completely reek of bad grammar and "noobishness", but it's also a pretty basic synopsis of what I find every day here on FF.N. Don’t let it happen to you; do something that no one else has done yet! Another really good benefit of creativity is the very good chance of avoiding "stealing someone's story". It CAN be done on accident, and trust me, it's a mess you do NOT want to be in if you haven't already. Not sure how to check for this? Use the “Search” feature at the top of the FF.N screen, type in a few words, and see if someone else has done it in your category or something. It's worked lots of times for me, and it really helps to avoid any potential "story stealing". #3 - Details!! Yet ANOTHER thing that a lot of people here seem to forget about. It's especially common with those younger users just barely starting out. Any people that are reading this now, I want you all to continue reading and get it sunken into your brains. A very good quote mentioned in my favorite quotes gives great advice on this; I read it every time I start to write. It says: "Don't tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass." That pretty much says it all, my fellow authors... Leopardstar 1) Have you ever read a six/eleven fanfic before? Sootfur/Mistyfoot - Uh, no, I don't think so?... (What are your thoughts on it?! -me trying to encourage myself to be random-) Uhh... it wouldn't work?! I don't know!! 2) Do you think four is hot? How hot? Graystripe - I've never had any attraction to a cat before (nor any other kind of non-human animal), so I would say NO... (dumbest question so far) 3) What would happen if twelve and eight started going out? Firestar/Tigerstar?! - Uhhh... o.0;; I seriously think that the world of Warriors as we fans knew it would be all be instantaneously sucked up into a black hole that forms from such an act!! It's the same thing that happens when you divide by 0! There, that's pretty random, isn't it?... (awkward silence)... Eh, whatever, I'm getting better. I can feel my brain slowly oozing out my ears. :) 4) Do you recall any fics about nine? Mothwing - Hmm, none that I have read myself, but I'm sure there's plenty. Mothwing is a really interesting character to me, so I think I should go find those fics and see if any of them are any good! :) 5) Would two and six make a good couple? Russetfur/Sootfur - They're from different Clans (AND one of them is already dead), but I dunno, I suppose if StarClan just randomly decided to let these two be together, maybe it'd work. It depends on how well Sootfur can put up with nasty little &@!@& . Yeah, you heard me... 6) Five/Nine or five/ten? Stormfur/Mothwing or Stormfur/Ravenpaw - Honestly neither, but if necessary, definitely the first. Stormfur's not the one to run off with another tom cat, especially if they're a long-time friend of his father's! 7) What would happen if seven walked in on two and eight kissing? Cinderpelt would walk in on Russetfur/Tigerstar - She... would tell... EVERYONE. No joke. And honestly, it's not that surprising of a couple, since they're both little-- okay, anyways, NEXT!... 8) Make up a summary of a three/ten fanfic. Rowanclaw/Ravenpaw - "Summary: (before gender change) The stars were all too quiet to the answer-seeking Ravenpaw. Life without the Clans, without her, is this what he truly wanted? 'Rowanclaw... this can't work.' Those words would haunt him forever..." First of all, this was kinda confusing to do, since Rowanclaw's gender changed somewhere in between the series. And second, they have almost NOTHING in common! They've never even met before! Gah, hardest question so far... 9) Is there any thing as one/eight fluff? Leopardstar/Tigerstar - Ha, I would bet! Former leaders of TigerClan, temporary similar ambitions of the future of the Clans, it all fits! Heck, if I was bored enough, I'd probably write a fluff on those two... o.0 Hmmm... (spark of inspiration) 10) Suggest a title for a seven/twelve hurt/comfort fic? Cinderpelt/Firestar - "The Crossroads of Futility", or maybe "I Have Failed You" 11) Does anyone on your friends list read three? Rowanclaw - I wouldn't think so. This character has had a gender change, AND really doesn't do much in the series besides being father to Tawnypelt and her kits. He's like Nightcloud: just there to bring existence back into the old prophecy cats. 12) Does anyone on your friends list draw or write eleven? Mistyfoot - Heck yeah! I tried drawing myself once; didn't turn out all that great, but she's definitely admired... I still might try a one-shot of some sort, but we'll see... 13) Would anyone on your friends list write two/four/five? Russetfur, Graystripe, Stormfur - Uhh, not that I know of. I probably would, and here's my instantaneous idea: oneshot - Daddy brings out the whoopin' on Russetfur in protection of Stormfur? Yeah, pretty lame, but it was funny at the time... :P 14) What might ten scream at a great moment of passion? Ravenpaw - DANG! So many that I'm too retarded to see!! Umm... how 'bout: "Ahh!! Tigerstar's going to kill me in my dreams!!" 15) If you wrote a songfic about eight, what song would you use? Tigerstar - Gah, I haven't really found the right song for Tigerstar yet, but from Three Days Grace I have "Let It Die", or perhaps "Riot"; I'm gonna go song-searching after this... 16) If you wrote a one/six/twelve fic, what would the warning be? Leopardstar/Sootfur/Firestar - WARNING: ThunderClan and RiverClan finally have it out with the interference of a dead cat. Contains blood and murder and violent action scenes. Rated M. Huh, actually, if you dumb down all that stuff to a T level, that would make an awesome fic! INSPIRATION!! :D 17) What would be a good pick-up line for ten to use on two? Ravenpaw/Russetfur o.0 Uhh... "'Sup, Russetfur. I know our Clans have had it out a few times, but since I'm technically not part of ThunderClan anymore and living as a lonely loner, I'm open to a good run around the lake, IF I manage the journey there..." ... (suckiest line EVER) ... 18) 1 and 8 are in a happy relationship until 5 runs off with 9. After 8 dumps 1 for 12, 6 gets upset and retaliates by dating 12. Alone and broken-hearted, 1 travels in search of a friend. Finally, 1 meets 4 and 7. The three loners meet 10, who tells each of them to look for love. 4 finds 3, 7 gets 11, but now 1 is stuck in a never-ending love triangle with 6 and 2! Leopardstar and Tigerstar are in a happy relationship until Stormfur runs off with Mothwing. After Tigerstar dumps Leopardstar for Firestar (look, there's the black hole!), Sootfur gets upset and retaliates by dating Firestar. Alone and broken-hearted, Leopardstar travels in search of a friend. Finally, Leopardstar meets Graystripe and Cinderpelt. The three loners meet Ravenpaw, who tells each of them to look for love. Graystripe finds Rowanclaw, Cinderpelt gets Mistyfoot, but now Leopardstar is stuck in a never-ending love triangle with Sootfur and Russetfur! o_o;;... 19) What would be a good title for this? Black Holes and Gayness Among the Clans 20) What would the genre(s) be? Parody/Humor/Illiterate Writing 21) The end! By the way, I set you up on a date with two! Russetfur?! Even if I was interested in dating cats, I'm not freakin' lez - retard! (sets fire to copy-&-paste quiz) There! My brain is rotting on the floor! Curse you, random copy-&-paste quiz!! (goes and dies in a hole) .: Other Stuff :. Last Update: April 18th, 2008 oOo Profile Abbreviation Key: - KH = Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2 "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends." Richard Bach oOo I'll be quite surprised if anyone had actually read through all of that. But like I had said at the beginning, fans and browsers alike are welcome to look at this. Be sure to check back for any updates on myself. Yes, I do happen to update every once in a while, even if my stories don't... Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day!
