Make mistakes. Do it now and do it here and learn. You only deserve to be called out when you're an adult that claims to be an expert. You're here to have fun and write and do something that you love. Don't let the unkind words of misguided people lead you from the things you love to do.

You're not here to impress them. You're here to grow. People like that are like stagnant water, mosquitoes lay their eggs and make more mosquitoes to suck your blood and spread diseases of hate. They won't heal and grow unless they move forward. But you, you're in motion. You're moving fast and the only way from here is up.

If you change something about your work, don't do it because someone told you to do it, do it because you know you can do better, and the fault truly bothers you. Never change your work because someone doesn't like it. You're not going to please everyone. Please yourself. Make yourself happy because you are important. You deserve to feel proud of your writing, of your paintings, of your music, your films, your sculptures... never change something because someone else doesn't like it. If you like it, it's perfect.

Learn to pick the actual criticism out of the flames. Sometimes, even while spewing their mosquitoes at your face, some of the stuff they say makes sense. I have learned that, and you'll learn that too. Just because they've upset you and are very, very wrong about some things, doesn't mean they aren't right about other things. Still, if the only reason you're changing your work is because they said it wasn't good enough, stop. Don't do that. Only change your writing if it's because the error that they've pointed out is bothering you and you won't be happy until you fix it. Never change for someone else. Change because you want to.

Don't become too set in your ways. Always search out new ways of doing things. Falling into a pattern is only harmful to your growth. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Don't weigh yourself down with needing perfection. It's not the content of a writing that makes it perfect, it's how you feel about it that makes it so.

Set the bar high. Challenge yourself. Try things you've never done before. New kinds of characters, new genres... don't fall back into comedy cliches.

But most importantly, have fun. Be safe. Express yourself. Don't let yourself become stagnant. Feel that sentience, that awareness you have and realize that everyone has that awareness. No one is just what you see, everyone has their own problems, their own friends and issues just like you do. Those that have gone stagnant are not beyond saving. Stir up their waters with love and kindness. They can not hurt you. They are only human, just like you. All that can be done is reach out a hand. It is up to them if they want to take that hand and they are no less of a human for refusing.

There is no evil, only stagnancy and bitterness. Be better than that and be kind.

Story Status

Decent stuff:

Tale of a Traitor: At the point it's at, the first act nearly complete for everything except the climax which will take three chapters at most. The second act is less planned out. I mostly have put this on hold due to the fact that I made it practically impossible to get into my character's head due to the direction I took. Anyways, those of you waiting for a conclusion... well, maybe I'll forget the second act completely and just end it where it should end. Hopefully this fic will see its conclusion.

Paleblood: My main project. Updates are kinda slow because my motivation is low.

The Consequences of Heresy: Illustrated version hosted exclusively on AO3. Abandoned, for the most part, unless I decide to restart and focus exclusively on my antagonist since she was such a fun character to write. I may revisit it, who knows.

Burn Their Bodies: I stopped hyperfixating on ASOIAF so who knows what's happening here.

Old Smelly Garbage:

In Foreign Lands: tbh I didn't even know what I was doing with this from the beginning. Dead.

Creatures of Myth: *COMPLETE*

Creatures of Myth - Sunlit Summons: I actually know exactly how this is going to play out and could easily write this whenever I wanted to. The issue here is that I'm busy with my Dishonored fic and CoM is getting no attention. I will finish this eventually, I promise.

Emerald Teardrops: I have no idea guys I had an idea but then... Dormant fic.

Yearning for Truth: This fic... was the first thing I ever put any effort into. However, it has left me completely and I have moved on to better things. I'm sorry for those who were looking forward to this fic. If you want a summary of how it ends, PM me.
