I'm Michael, a journalist from IL, who enjoys writing and reading fan fiction as a way of staying sane. I often find fan created content to be more positive. So that's mostly what I read any more. Also, journalists don't make very much money so I can't really afford books. I mean, I could. That would just cut into my booze money and that just ain't happening.

I don't particularly know if I'm actually a fan fiction writer as much as I am a wannabe novelist who tends to turn other ideas into my own. I'm a journalist. I tend to over research and over explain things in case my readers do not understand. This works in a newspaper. It does not work in creative writing.

Seriously. Any tips on how I can improve are greatly appreciiated. I don't take criticism personally, as long as it doesn't resort to name calling.
