Oh why hello there! I’m JuJu!
Well, I’m not exactly sure what to say here, but I guess I could just ramble? Haha

Well, I’m a pretty nerdy girl who loves anime and I’m currently at 140 books in my manga collection journey to 2,000.… o 3o Yah, I know it’s an insane goal to aim for, but it’s what I love.

I like people and things that make me think and get my mind going. I’m big on movies and analyzing them, piecing the story lines together in my mind and trying to figure out how something was done. I think it comes from growing up with a photographer uncle who does photo shoots for celebrities and sometimes directs music videos. No, I’m not bragging about anything, I’m just saying that he showed me how things are done in movies and how special effects really work and all that stuff. It’s really given me a perspective on things that force me to try and see beyond the horizon of stuff so I’m thankful for him and his wonderful mind of art(:

A lot of times I get asked by people, why is it that I like anime and Japan so much. Well, to be honest I sometimes wonder that myself. So, I just gave it a bit of thought and came to some answers for this question.

1) The Art Is Beautiful
I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen some pretty shitty cartoons out there. Anime has some of the most wonderfully animated shows I’ve seen. The use of vibrant colors, and stunning character designs just blow me away. One of my personal favorites as far as animation goes, is Samurai Champloo. Never have I seen such genius in the work of anime sword and hand to hand combat scenes. Just, beautiful.

2) The Many Choices Of Genre
Another thing I love about anime is it’s flexibility and how many different genres it offers to appeal to all. No matter who you are, if you like sci-fi, there’s Ghost in the Shell. If you like romance with some drama mixed in, there’s Toradora! (that being one of my personal favorites). If you love ninjas then there’s Nabari No Ou. There’s thousands of different kinds of anime so that everyone can find at least one that would appeal to them.

3) Death and Tragedy
Alright, I know everyone may not like the tragedy genre, but any anime that can get you emotionally involved to the point where tears blur your vision is well worth watching. Anime is sadly stereotypically classified as “children shows”. Actually, a lot of anime isn’t even meant for children due to adult themes such as sexual content (it’s even in G rated anime), drugs, and my point, death. A lot of anime that I’ve watched has involved a lot of death scenes. I mean like, a whole death scene with a character’s finale words and other characters bawling their eyes out pleading for them to live. Death in a story, to me, is something that must be done right. I know I’m being a little dramatic here, but I can’t help but feel that a death scene of an important or beloved character in an anime done wonderfully is a work of art. For example, the ending of Code Geass. No spoilers, don’t worry

Whoa that went longer than I expected it to :S Haha
Well, please go ahead and read some of my fics and review please! Criticism is always welcome and appreciated! : D
