Hi everyone. TAMF here. I have seen some stories here that I think are absolutely beautiful and well written. It was my good friend on Deviantart, MarzipanHomestar66 (Or ThomasAngryBirds on this site) that inspired me to make this account. My main interests are Thomas and Friends/Railway Series (I group them into one because some characters of the former came from the latter.) and My Little Pony: Friendship is magic. I'm currently looking for ideas for Thomas stories crossed over with MLP. Now, my ideas for the Thomas TV characters may differ from yours. We are entitled to our opinions though, right? Here they are (Some are very similar to their TV counterparts, others are very different.): Smudger: Worked on the MSR as number 2 from 1888-1905. Then was turned into a generator on the final year in service there. Duke used this story to teach engines how not to misbehave, as a young Falcon and Stuart found out. Smudger was restored and rebuilt to Britomart's design in 2003 after going to another railway in 1947. Cranky: A crane that works down at Brendam Docks on Edward's branchline. Arrival time is currently unknown. Old Slow Coach: Renamed Kathy and is the sister of Christopher. Coaches that belong to Lady. Same basis as the TVS. Arrived 1893, was to be scrapped when her class became obsolete in 1930, but saved along with Christopher in a later year. Still working on it. The Horrid Lorries: Pretty much the same as the TVS, with a few twists here and there. Arrival time is unknown. Derek: Arrived 1971, when his class was last withdrawn. After some trials and breaking down, he was scared he was to be sent away and be scrapped. But Bill and Ben stood in and said he would make a good addition to the team. After some repairs and modifications, he becomes one of the most reliable diesels ever seen. 'Arry and Bert: Bert is renamed 'Bart' as to not get confused with the other Bert on the Arlesdale line. Both of the diesels are Class 09s who work down at the Vickerstown scrapyard. The reason I made them Class 09s, is because I didn't want a whole bunch of Class 08s rolling around Sodor. Arrival time would possibly be around the 1960s or the 1990s. Still trying to work it out. Bertram: Duke's brother. Was built a year after him in 1880, and both ran the MSR along with their brother Pioneer and sister Mistress. Bertram got lost in a mineshaft in 1888 and none of the others saw him since. He was found again in 1983 and was restored to former glory in 1998 as the SKR's number 13. Butch: A tow truck is based at the Sodor Search and Rescue centre. Arrival time is unknown. Thumper: A drill that works at the Balladwail Quarry that arrived around the 1940s. Tiger Moth: A plane that works at the Sodor Airport with Harold. Arrival time is unknown. Lady: Prototype for a Sodor built engine 'Lady' class. Intended for the Great Western Railway, but rejected in 1908. Lost in 1923, rediscovered in 1984, restored by the time of 2000. Diesel 10: Remove the claw for a start. With an personality like that though, he would never become an NWR engine by any means. But however, another engine of his class may become a fast passenger locomotive. Splatter and Dodge: British Railway class British Rail Class 04s that work in the shunting yards at Vickorstown. Salty: Works at Brendam Docks on Edward's branchline. Arrives around or after the 1970s. Harvey: Based at Croven's Gate works, arrived 1915. Elizabeth: Sir Topham Hatt's 1st lorry. Got lost in the 1900s, then rediscovered later and restored. Works alongside the SKR. (I need some accurate details for Elizabeth actually. Anything you can come up with will be very much be welcome, but it must be realistic.) The pack members: Changing Oliver's name to Oscar and Patrick's name to Paul, the whole pack would probably be doing road work and some of them could work at quarries around the island. Emily: Ex Sodor and Mainland number 4 that arrived in the 1870s. Was hidden away in 1916, and rediscovered and restored during the Sodor's preservation era taking off from the late 1950s. Works on Edward's branchline. Fergus: Instead of a traction engine, Fergus is a GNR Class J13. Being this class, Fergus will be able to become a shunter somewhere. Maybe on Edward'd branchline. He does have a bit of a knack with Bill and Ben after all. Arthur: Head of the Kirk Ronan branch and one of Jinty's and Pug's companions that came from the other railway to help out while the others were in London in Edward's place. Arthur was put aside for preservation in 1966 when his class was being withdrawn. Then in a later year, he was brought to the NWR when the funds were starting to run out. Murdoch: Running heavy goods and sometimes the express when Gordon is elsewhere. He was one of the engines that came from the other railway to help out while the others were in London in Henry's place. Murdoch was put aside for preservation in 1966 when his class was being withdrawn. Then in a later year, he was brought to the NWR when the funds were starting to run out. Spencer: Preserved locomotive on an unknown heritage railway. Comes to Sodor every once in a while to help with the fast passenger trains. Molly: Runs passenger services on the Norramby Branchline. Old friend of Toby and Flora from the Great Eastern Railway/London North Eastern Railway. Arrived in the 1950s. Neville: Runs goods trains on the Kirk Ronan branch. Came after being saved from scrap in 1964. Dennis and Norman: Both are BR class 14s and work the Kirk Ronan branchline taking light goods trains. Mighty Mac: I made them 2 single fariles. They are Ex Mid Sodor engines and also ended up at the Aluminium works project with Falcon and Stuart. Both engines were also bought to the SKR after funds on their military railway was running low. Proteus: Ex Skarloey Railway engine built in 1882. He then went to the Mid Sodor railway since Stanley had become a pumping engine in 1920. When the railway closed down, he ended up at the Aluminium works project. Then arrived at a military railway after they found out he was an Ex Mid Sodor engine, was bought to the Mid Sodor Heritage line in 1999. Rosie: 1st came to Sodor as one of the engines that helped when the engines went to London in Duck's place. Then came to Sodor in 2000 as the last engine brought from a heritage railway after it defunct. Now runs on Thomas' branchline helping Percy with the goods work. Freddie: Came to the SKR in 1904 as a prototype for his brother Russell. Then was sent to the MSR in 1921 when they needed a goods engine. Then came to the SKR in 1965 after the railway's 100th anniversary and of the 100th birthday of Skarloey and Rheanes. His cab got badly damaged in 1985, causing the railway to build Ivo Hugh. He was restored soon after Ivo Hugh's completion when they realised that his cab could be mended again. Rocky: Arrived around the 1950s and based at the Sodor Search and Rescue Center. Jeremy: A jet plane that takes passengers to and from the mainland. Whiff: Changed the name to Winifred and class to a J72. Works at the Kirk Ronan branch doing goods runs. Hector: Ballast hopper on Duck's branchline. Billy and Charlie: I've been going backwards and forwards with these 2, but I think I've got their new class now. GWR 1600 Class. The reason I have changed them us, is because that one of my friends said that their old class would not work as an NWR engine. Anyway, these 2 now work on the Kirk Ronan branch taking lightweight passenger and goods traffic. Madge: Arrived around the time of 1964. Mostly helps out with taking the little engines to Croven's Gate works for repairs or other things like that. Stanley: Renamed Simmors. Arrived at the same time as Jade (The Austerity Tank) in 1993 and is her brother. In other words, Stanley is an Austerity tank as well. They both help out on the Little Western and sometimes other branchlines around the area. Colin: Works at Croven's Gate wharf lifting loads into the trucks for the little and big engines to collect. Hank: A USATC S160 Class mostly taking heavy goods on the Mainline. He seems to be a fatherly figure to Rosie, who also has American heritage. Arrived 1st in 1956 to help out in Gordon's place, then arrived in 1974 after coming from his preservation railway when the funds ran out. Flora: Same class as Toby, a LNER J70. She is Toby's long lost sister and works on the Ffarquar branch taking workmen to and from the quarry as well as take quarry trains. Hiro: An LMS Jubilee Class taking passenger trains on the mainline. Victor: Pretty much the same as the TVS working at Croven's Gate Works, with the exception of that him and Luke's stories are different altogether. Kevin: Based at Croven's Gate works. Bash and Dash: Work at the logging yards at the end of Great Waterton. Oh, and their class is now LNER Y7s. Ferdinand: Works at the logging yards at the end of Great Waterton. Captain: Works at the Sodor Search and Rescue centre just beyond Bendam Docks. Scruff: An LNER class Y8 and is primarily a shunter on the Little Western branchline. Changed name to Samson. Belle: Remove the water canons for a start. Ok, now Belle is one of the engines brought to help out while the other engines were away in London, replacing James. Then put aside for preservation in the 1960s, eventually coming to Sodor permanently and being repainted NWR blue. Flynn: Move him to the roads for a start. Flynn is based at the Sodor Search and Rescue centre. Den: A British Rail Class 02 working mostly at Vickerstown Works. Dart: A British Rail Class 05 working mostly at Vickerstown Works. Paxton: Diesel's younger, kinder and a bit more gullible brother that works down at the Norramby Branchline. Sidney: A British Rail Class 06 that works on the Little Western, mostly as a shunter but also takes ballast trains. Stafford: A shunter down on the Peel Godred branchline. (He is after all, an Electric engine. So, it works.) Winston: Essentially the same role as the TVS. Merrick: Essentially the same role as the TVS, but works at the Ward Fell Quarry instead. Owen: Essentially the same role as the TVS, but works at the Ward Fell Quarry instead. Luke: Arrives in 1946, gets lost at the Ward Fell quarry in 1947, and is rediscovered in 2005. Also at that stage gets to meet his cousin, Peter Sam. Stephen: Same role as the TVS. Caitlin: A GWR 7800 Class. She brings passengers from the mainland every once in a while from the Great Western Railway preservation society along with Conner. Conner: A GWR 2251 Class. He brings passengers from the mainland every once in a while from the Great Western Railway preservation society along with Caitlin. Millie: Ex Mid Sodor engine that was later bought at the Earl's private engine. The Earl went for a trip around the world for a while, leaving Millie sheeted in her shed. When he returned, Millie went back into service at Usltead on the narrow gauge tracks beside Thomas' branchline. She is occasionally brought to the SKR to help with the passenger traffic. Porter: Works mostly at the Kirk Ronan fishing village. Minor RWS characters: Barry: Mixed traffic on the Kirk Ronan branchline. Arrived in 1984 after being saved from scrap. The unnamed Red engine: I call him Eagle. He works on the Nommbry Branchline. Jinty and Pug: They work on the Kirk Ronan branchline. Jinty had been preserved before coming to Sodor, but Pug was due to be scrapped. Luckily, Percy slipped into the scrapyards and saved Pug before it was too late. The Austerity Engine: Her name is Jade and she came at the same time as Simmors. They both mostly work on the Little Western. 98462 and 87546: I call them Richard and Robert. They are both B12s that were sent away in disgrace in 1923. Albert (Furness Railway): Now works on Thomas' branch with Victoria and Helaena taking the 1st passenger train of the day as well as some light goods trains. The Peel Godred engines: I call them Melissa, Cassandra, Lauren, and Christina. These 4 were the original 4 built for the NWR in 1923. Albert (Mid Sodor): Primarily a goods engine, but was scrapped in 1920 due to letting his firebox crown melt. Tim: Works mostly on the tramway on the Mid Sodor line. Was brought by the Aliumuim works in 1936, then sold to another railway when the project closed. Arrived at the Mid Sodor Heritage line in 1999. Jim: A kindhearted soul, but prone to bad luck. Was sold to a sand quarry, then brought to the Mid Sodor Heritage Railway to live on. Alfred, Atlas and the mines engine: The unnamed Mines engine is one I like to call Miney, later Minnie. While Miney and Atlas, the 2 girls, were hard workers, Alfred was boastful. He had his accident when his cab came off in 1922, Miney arrived the same year to replace him. Then, Miney and Atlas were bought to work at some mines on another railway before coming to the Mid Sodor Heritage Railway to live. Jerry: Mostly doing passenger work and the occasional goods work on the Mid Sodor line. Then he came to the Mid Sodor Heritage line after leaving a military railway. John: Worked on the Mid Sodor line doing mostly goods work. He came to another railway to work after he was sold off in 1935, then came to the Mid Sodor Heritage Railway. Jennings: Mostly worked in the mines with the mines engines, but was sold off in 1935. He later came to the Mid Sodor Heritage line in 2000 along with John. The unnamed red Mid Sodor engine: I call him Fletcher, after the works that he was built at. He worked on the MSR for a short while, then was sent elsewhere. He was sent to the Mid Sodor Heritage line in 2001. Stanley: He stopped too suddenly on the Mid Sodor line and was turned into a pumping engine in 1920. He broke down in 1946 which cause the mine at Cas-ny-Hawin to flood and he was scrapped after that. NWR engines and other friends.
