A divergence after Blackwater.

After 6 long years, Sandor Clegane finds himself once more returning to the gates of Winterfell, this time serving a different ruler as a different man. There he finds the girl he'd once called a little bird, who no longer fits the namesake. Grown strong and proud, yet somehow even more lovely, Sansa captivates the Hound once more as he struggles to right his wrongs. Post season 7.

Sansa and Sandor meet again. Sansa is no longer a frightened child, but the Lady of Winterfell. With the Great War upon them, surrounded by enemies, kings and queens will rise and fall. A continuation of Game of Thrones after Season 7.

This is a SanSan story taking place during episode 7 of season 7, and beyond, with some obvious changes. It is mostly based on the show, but there will be some book references as well. Instead of travelling to King's Landing to show the wight to Cersei, Sandor Clegane heads for Winterfell to offer his protection to the lady Sansa. This will wrap up ASOIAF season 8.

Sansa escapes with Sandor during the Battle of Blackwater, little guessing that it will change both their fates forever. Far away lands and a journey of self-discovery for both await them.

This story is my best guess at how the Sansa/Sandor storyline will progress. The first chapter starts immediately after Arya leaves Sandor at the Trident. Told from the POV of Sansa/Alayne, Sandor, the Elder Brother, and the Mad Mouse.
