![]() Author has written 37 stories for Torchwood, Melanie Rawn, Harry Potter, Supernatural, and Hobbit. Yo! G'day! Hello! Namaste! Ciao! Bonjour! Guten Tag! Hola! Okay, you get the point. I'm Ash. I'm an ancient history nerd (as you may have guessed, given all the ancient references I churn out sometimes), I read and write a lot (I own more books than...well, pretty much anything), I sing on the karaoke stage (though whether I sing well is open to debate between me and...well, me) and in the Gospel choir. I love films and books, especially epic ones and fantasy/sci-fi ones (Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are right up there!) I'll generally be calmly sitting either at home at my laptop or curled up with a book and sometimes a notepad or two making notes on things. It will either be work or me writing ideas for a story or something. Well, yeah - basically, all I can say about me is don't judge a book by its cover. That's an extremely dangrous idea if you're talking about me. Seriously. And don't leave me alone in a bookshop either. That's not a good move. My Twitter: @AnduriaTrianys (feel free to follow me; I'm always after people to talk fic with! :P) My Tumblr: Litsetaure I'm a chatterbox who's always out for new friends, so, y'know, if you want to natter just PM me. Be warned: you might find me hard to get rid of! :P PS: In case you were wondering, yes, I am part Indian - and real proud of it as well! And, as much as I hate stereotpying, when someone said to me 'Huh, you're part Indian - you must love cricket', I couldn't very well get mad. Why? 'Cos I do. Yeah. So. Things I like: (in no particular order) Travelling - I can't settle in one place. Unless it's India. For some reason, I really settle there. Reading - I own more books than I do clothes. Writing - You will always find at least two notebooks in my bag along with a heck of a lot of pens. Singing - Yeah, I'm the one making a twit of myself on the karaoke. Art - Can't draw, but hey, it's still fun. Ancient stories/epics/myth - I'm a (part-Indian) classicist. Bad Jokes - Meet my father. 'Nuff said. Harry Potter - Why did she kill Sirius AND Remus! Post-It Notes - I have (counts) five in a fifteen centimeter space. Chess - It's interetsing. Sudoku - Helps me think. Indian films - Can't understand them without subtitles, but so what? Weird discussions - Usually, I'm the one who makes them random/weird. Animals - They're good listeners, 'cos they never interrupt you. Charity shops - Give 'em a try. They're awesome. Long-haired guys - Not sure why. Kooky music - Hey, I'm a kooky person. Dogs - I had a dog. Her name was Duchess. She ran away. Oops? Earrings - I hardly ever wear the same pair two days running. Cricket - Having a family like mine was going to catch up with me eventually. Chak de India! Things I don't like: (in no particular order) Prejudice - I've seen too much of it. War/Violence - I'm a pacifist. Horror films - Can't STAND blood and guts. Arguments - Heard too many of them. My temper - Unfortunately, I've inherited my mother's. Being told how to think - We've all got our own opinions. Sure, we should listen to others, but ultimately, we make our own choices. Quote: "Growling to see the son of the wind, Indrajit sprang at him. But then Lakshmana pulled on his bowstring." Favourite Books: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Iliad, The Odyssey, The Aeneid (even though Aeneas is a wimp!), Euripides, Sophocles and Aeschylus, The Kite Runner, The Ramayana, The Mahabharata, The Heroic Age of India, A Passage to India, Brokeback Mountain, Chronicles of Narnia, Beloved, Pride and Prejudice, A Walk In The Woods, Neither Here Nor There, Penguins Stopped Play...I could go on, but I won't, because I'll be here for EVER! Favourite Films: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Aladdin, Moulin Rouge, West Side Story, Miss Congeniality Pirates of the Carribean, Bride and Prejudice, Asoka, Om Shanti Om, Chak de! India, Troy, Brokeback Mountain, Grease, Slumdog Millionaire, The Lion King...again, I could go on, but I'll be here for ever. Favourite Television: Battlestar Galactica, Brothers & Sisters, Heroes, Scrubs, Friends, Goodness Gracious Me, The Simpsons, Torchwood (seasons 1 and 2!), Doctor Who, Sanctuary, Stargate SG-1. Favourite FanFic Pairings: From Harry Potter: Sirius/Remus, James/Lily, Harry/Ginny, Harry/Luna, Harry/Cedric, Harry/Draco, Ron/Hermione, Neville/Luna, Neville/Ginny, Charlie/Tonks, Snape/Petunia. From Lord of the Rings: Aragorn/Arwen, Faramir/Eowyn. I also ship Aragorn/Legolas too, actually :P From Star Wars: Obi-Wan/Anakin, Han/Luke, Han/Leia, Han/Lando (actually, I'll put Han with practically anyone who (a) moves (b) is human!), Lando/Leia. From Troy/The Iliad and all that stuff: Achilles/Patroclus, Achilles/Briseis, Hector/Andromache, Hector/Achilles, Paris/Helen. Oh, and from Torchwood: Jack/Ianto - hey, come on, it's canon! I also like Rhys/Gwen (how can you not love him?) and Owen/Tosh. From Brothers and Sisters: Kevin/Scotty (noticing a pattern here?!) From Supernatural: Sam/Dean (yeah, I know, but it just works!), Dean/Castiel, or, y'know, Sam/Dean/Castiel. *Suddenly notes a brewing plotbunny or several* Hmm... From The Mortal Instruments Series: Magnus/Alec Also, having seen The Hobbit, I also ship Fili/Kili. Yeah, I know. I also don't care. Oh, and Merlin/Arthur from Merlin. I'm such a hopeless romantic, it's almost ridiculous! And yes, I admit it - I am a shameless slash fan! I'm not very good at writing humour, but I'm certainly willing to give it a try! That's all I can come up with for now, to be honest. Oh, except that, because I will definitely forget to put this in all my fics (Honestly, I'm so scatterbrained, I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders): I don't own any of the fictional universes or characters. I'm just borrowing them temporarily for a bit of a laugh. Love feedback, by the way! Don't hold back!! I also have an AO3 account that I've started posting my fic on there. My username there is Litsetaure. :) Link is here: Um...yeah, so I am still alive. And I haven't forgotten my fics and do intend to finish them, honest! I'd love to say I've got a good excuse, but I'd be lying if I did...unless an immense lack of inspiration and motivation counts as a good excuse. I've had an odd time, which has zapped my creative energy big time, but I'm slowly - VERY slowly sorry! - starting to get back into the swing of things again. To everyone reading my fics - thank you! I won't abandon them, I promise! Just might take a while for them to get finished. Also, if anyone can suggest any methods for getting the creative energy back, please send them my way! Ash xxx |
