Growing up, Dick lived a fairly isolated life while in Wayne Manor. One day he is kidnapped by a mysterious group but is rescued in his attempt to escape them by a man who he believes is a hero. Though, the mysterious hero may not have the best intentions, Dick is too wonderstruck by him to notice. Slade/Dick slowburn

Dick finds himself lost in feelings of the present, unable to see a future for himself. Just as Slade is confined by his unacknowledged loneliness.
