Inspired by JC-of-the-Corn's Endless Possibilities, similar stories spawned by the idea, and my need for an outlet for weird stories during writer's blocks. Go read the others. Jaune had always dreamed of being a Hero, of being someone. But dreams were just that; for in the world of Remnant the Class you are born with determines your fate. Jaune was born a Blacksmith, and thus that was his destiny. But when a strange opportunity allows him to change that, can a simple Blacksmith become something more within the Beacon Academy for Heroes?

Jaune always wanted to be a hero, that's why he enrolled into Beacon hoping it will give him the chance to do so. What he got was a rejection letter for his troubles. Now living in Vale with no direction Jaune asks himself if he will ever have the chance to be what he dreamed to be. Turns out his question was answered with a spider bite.

Yang Xiao-Long didn't think she'd spend a night out consoling JNPR's resident knight when she left her dorm but, while talking about his problems, Jaune lets it slip that he knows about Pyrrha's feelings and doesn't reciprocate.
