![]() Author has written 4 stories for Pride and Prejudice, and Candy Candy. "You does not love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or their fancy cars, but because they sing a song only you can hear" (Oscar Wilde) This phrase is traditionally attributed to Oscar Wilde, but it is not completely proved. Nevertheless, he will always be one of my favorite authors. Hi, dear readers I apologize in advance if I commit some grammar mistakes, English is not my native language. I found and got trapped in the fanfiction world a year ago, now I am trying my hand in writing. To own the truth, I have to tell that I've never written anything in my life, but I have many ideas of variations that are shouting me to develop them. I only hope they live to do justice to the masterpieces they are based upon. THINGS ABOUT ME: I love reading all kind of books. I've read classic books; such as Shakespeare's plays, Jane Austen novels, Brönte sisters works, and others. I also read many sagas, to name a few: Harry Potter, Divergent, Hunger Games, Twilight, The Selection, etc. However, I have an obsession for Jane Austen. Sadly, here in my country, we don't study her work deeply, but I became an addict of her novels. My favorite is "Pride and Prejudice", who doesn't love it? I read the book the first time when I was eight since then I loved Elizabeth character and I started hoping to ever find a Mr. Darcy. I've watched all the adaptations: 1940 movie (I didn't like it, I think the actors didn't develop well the characters), 1980 BBC TV series (It is a good adaptation, even though not my favorite), 1995 BBC TV series ( I loved this adaptation, because is very loyal to the original book and the actors, particularly Colin Firth, developed well the character. He performed perfectly such as Mr. Darcy) and 2005 movie (I really liked it, even if it isn't exactly like the book. I tried to understand because there wasn't much time on screen to place all the details and situations of the book. And I really liked the pairing of Matthew Macfadyen and Keira Knightley). Well, I am sure you have already figured out that I am obsessed with P&P variations. My second favorite book of Jane Austen is "Emma". I like how she wrote this story, especially the characters. I found many similarities between Emma and Elizabeth, that was what I loved most of it. Then my third favorite is "Persuasion", even if it is little dreary for my tastes, I liked the hidden message about second chances. All the other books of Jane Austen if not my favorites, I consider them masterpieces. "Northanger Abbey" is a good book, it was interesting the author's intention to write a parody of Gothic novels. And I also consider "Sense and Sensibility" a beautiful romantic novel. At last, my least favorite book is "Mansfield Park", I didn't like the heroine of the book. I can't compare Fanny Price with other Jane Austen heroines such as Elizabeth Bennet or Emma Woodhouse. They are so different!, so Fanny Price is not a dear character, well for me. I would like to name my favorite pairings: - Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy ( The most beautiful and romantic couple of all times) - Emma Woodhouse and Mr. Knightley - Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth - Margaret Hale and John Thornton (I love Elizabeth Gaskell's book "North and South", it has a well-written plot) - Beatrice and Benedick ("Much ado about nothing" is my favorite Shakespeare Comedy) - Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester - Catherine and Heathcliff (In this book, I have a relation hate-love with the characters. I don't like all nuances of their personalities, but I got hooked by the intention of Emily Brönte in connecting the most intense human passions, such as hate and love. Despite they don't get their actual HEA and I don't like Heathcliff's actions, they represent one of the most famous and complicated couples in classic novels) - Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton - Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games is my favorite Dystopic saga. I love Peeta, he is so sweet.) - Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter - Lily Evans and James Potter - America Singer and Prince Maxon (I liked Prince Maxon especially. He is like a prince charming) - Bella Swan and Edward Cullen - Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters (I loved "The fault in our stars". In that book, John Green made me laugh one moment and the next one made me cry. It was so deep the message of the book, in fact, it was what captived me.) - Louisa Clark and Will Traynor ("Me before you" was one of the saddest books I've ever read, but at the same time the most heartwarming. Jojo Moyes gave a lesson with this book that I'll never forget.) Well, they are some of my favorite couples. They aren't all, but they will continue increasing while I continue reading books. I finish this with regards and best wishes for all of you. Now, I liked to point out another reason why I became involved in the fanfiction world. It is not only my love for Jane Austen books but also my desire to read stories about my favorite anime-manga "Candy Candy". |
