When I think of the best parenting websites on the web, there are dozens I could recommend to people, and I wanted to be one of them. We all want to learn how to be a better parent. It would take time and effort, but I love helping people and I DO know a thing or two…so this should work, right?
Well, it's one thing to have readers say they like your website, but quite another to get praises from a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and best parenting websites.
It surprised me!
Being a dad of 12 does give me some advantages, and being a grandfather means I've navigated the entire range of parenting. From birth to married and grandkids, I've done it all. So my idea was to share my personal experiences to help families by offering parenting tips and family night ideas. Specific idea in general areas we can all use help or a fresh perspective.
That focused changed the moment a reader asked me what is a ‘dysfunctional family' was.
Here was this heartbroken teen…not a parent, but a youth, who desperately wanted to know how to fix her family so they could be happy again.
What do you do, when someone reaches out, asking for help…and you have personally overcome the exact challenge now being experienced?
You help.
People wonder why I do this.
I share my life with others because people need to see that being a family isn't as complicated as the world makes it out to be. There are simple, fun and principle-based things you can do to make improvements at every turn. To heal relationships and strengthen bonds. To build unity and find that long-lost laughter again.
That's why I'm here.
To show you how.
