They were the best of their class, able to bring down Republic City's most heinous criminals. Yet, there was one criminal that always managed to elude them—The Blue Spirit. All Korra wanted was to fight, but as a girl - even as the Avatar - that world is closed to her. Refusing to accept her lot in life, she dresses as a boy to join the Fire Ferrets pro-bending team, and finds out that while being a boy might free her somewhat, she also runs into some unexpected problems...especially concerning her love life. Korra finally made it to Republic City, but as "punishment" she is ordered to go a highschool by authorities. She makes friends, but she soon learns many secrets, from gangs to underground hide outs; even finding herself caught in the middle of a brewing war that'll change Republic City forever. But she crosses the line she falls for one of a gangs most prized members.
