About 2 years after the Night-Howlers case, Nick and Judy have been dating for... 2 years. However, After accidentally proposing to Judy, Nick must endure meeting her family for the first time at Stu and Bonnie's 25'th wedding anniversary. Immediately following the events of The Fox In Bunny Burrows (A New York Times Best Seller), Nick and Judy are thrown head-long back into the force. Assigned to a string of missing mammal cases, which occurred in their absence, Nick and Judy must dig up the past if they wish to make any progress. At the end of every year, the officers of Precinct 1's GTA unit gather to celebrate making it through another year safely, and to remember those who hadn't. It's Nick and Judy's first year joining the annual gathering and they learn what this "Toast to Remember" is all about. A tribute to those police officers, firefighters and paramedics who serve our communities. Thank you!

But things aren't as peaceful as they may now be in Zootopia, and the two cops are thrust into a brand new caper - solved with the help of a certain pastry-baking fox from Judy's past.

Nick and Judy realize there's more between them than just friendship after he enlists some elephant-sized help getting her out of a particularly tight spot. This story can be read as a standalone, but I like to think it takes place shortly after my other story, Lives Unraveled.

Judy goes on vacation, leaving Nick to deal with his feelings for her the only way he knows how... by pretending like they don't exist. But after a tragic accident, he's forced to come to terms with his past mistakes as he struggles with the possibility that he may lose Judy forever.
