In which the smallest of small town girls (who saved the world once or twice) becomes an Avenger and starts doing it full time.

Accompanying her aunt's aunt to the seaside for the summer, Miss Elizabeth Bennet runs, quite literally, into none other than Miss Darcy. Mr. Wickham's plans go awry and his relationship to Mrs. Younge is uncovered earlier than our villain would wish. Enter a resentful Darcy and I think our characters are all in place.

Darcy's horse casts a shoe while riding to Pemberley which causes him to miss encountering Elizabeth Bennet who is touring the estate. Thus he is unable to show her his change in behaviour, fails to learn of her improved opinion of him, fails to meet the Gardiners, and fails to learn what happens to Lydia. (Updates on hold for a week or two)

Elizabeth is sent to London to enjoy the fall season and does not return to Longbourn until Christmas of 1811. (This is a relatively short story - about 25K words - and it focuses almost entirely on Darcy & Elizabeth.)

The Gardiners' trip to The Lakes is not postponed and Elizabeth never visits Pemberley.

Elizabeth is slightly more perspicuous and thoughtful, and does not fall for Wickham's story, leading to an earlier resolution to a attachment to Darcy. Mrs. Gardiner also plays an expanded role.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

A lucky meeting in the seaside town of Morecastle results in a series of light-hearted adventures and misadventures, accompanied by prodigious amounts of flirting.

The winter of 1811 was perilously and unexpectedly cold. The roads became impassable and neighbors leaned on each other to bear the barren winter. The Winter of 1811 found Netherfield Park occupied for Christmas. Holiday fic 2012.
