Instead of meeting Barnaby at the end of the season, Kotetsu instead meets and partners up with him months later. After feeling so depressed during the time he was not working, he returns and decides Barnaby is his new chance. Even as they struggle to get along and Kotetsu continually stumbles into problems every time things start to go right, he finds some hope.
