In this re-telling of DBS, Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan God and faces Beerus instead of Goku. Now, Goku must tap into the secrets of the Great Ape to unleash a new form, or be outclassed forever. The visit from the Destroyer prompts everyone else to train as well. Follow the Z Fighters as they go down their own diverging paths to reach new heights and obtain the ultimate power.

The overall theme of SoD is, "becoming more than what fate shaped you to be". Frieza's fate takes a different path as he tries to come to terms with being spared by his hated enemy.

During Vegeta's last stand against Frieza, the Prince of Saiyans ascends, becoming the first Super Saiyan of his era. History has been re-written...but to what degree? Edited by Davidstarlingm (Co-author).

A/U-With his father missing, Gohan is rescued from his abusive mother by the last person he'd expect. They discover secrets of their blood and how to save their dying race. OOC to various degrees. Beware Chi-Chi fans (since few read ch 1 disclaimer on that)

When Gohan was born, he inherited Bardock's power. Not only can he see the future, but he can see his grandfather, Bardock, as well. His parents think he has an imaginary friend, but as Gohan grows older his 'friend' doesn't go away. With the future in his sight will he make the right choices to save the planet, or will he pick the wrong ones and put Earth at risk?

Following that fateful day at the Cell Games, Gohan quickly realizes that the role of earth's protector is filled with many great trials and tribulations. Encountering new enemies and friends along the way, the young half-Saiyan comes to learn that being a hero can be tough, but at the same time... it can be a lot of fun. AU. Gohan/Videl or Gohan/Harem.

What if Vegeta had ended up being the one to kill Cell, and became the next ascended Super Saiyan after Gohan? Paths diverge and the Prince of All Saiyans goes down a different path, finally learning what it feels like to be a hero.
