Update 7/7/14: So... hello everyone. It's been a while since I've logged onto my account, and it's been even longer since I've written anything worthwhile. For that, I want to say I'm sorry. A lot had happened the past two years and it has affected me and my writing more than I would've liked it to. Nevertheless, I feel my life has gotten much more peaceful the last few months, and since I do not have to worry about schoolwork until september, I have made a deal with myself.

Starting today, I will sit down to write each and every day for at least one hour. On some days this hours will result in just three lines of new writing, on another I will write out three pages. On some days I'll be counting the minutes until the hour ends because I don't have any inspiration, on others I'll be writing a lot longer than just an hour. I am going to try to focus my attention on my three ongoing stories, particularly Random Stranger, since it has been quite a while since I posted an update, but if I feel like it, I will use my hour to work on one of my unpublished stories, so don't be surprised if a oneshot pops up somewhere in the next two months.

So, long story short... prepare for some updates!

Hello, and welcome to my profile. I'm BlackKitt, a nineteen-year-old aspiring author from the Netherlands. My passion lies with writing, but I also love reading, watching anime and listening to music (I only recently discovered the wonders of K-Pop). My favorite books include Harry Potter, the Hunger Games, Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close and any book written by Arnon Grunberg, my favorite Dutch author. My favorite animes are Yu-Gi-Oh! (although I should shamefully admit I have never seen the original Japanese version), Tokyo Mew Mew, Bleach and Naruto. Some of my favorite TV-series are House, M.D. (best. show. ever.), Frasier and The Following. My favorite movie of all time is Dead Poets Society (the only movie that can make me cry every single time I watch it). I love nearly all music, but I am currently listening to a lot of K-Pop and I have been in love with Maroon 5's music since I first heard the song 'This Love'.

About my work

The quote at the top of this profile basically sums up my work. I write mostly romance stories, and I am a fierce supporter of the statement 'opposites attract'. Also, for some peculiar reason, I have a tendency to pair up very rich and/or powerful, jerkish character with a less fortunate but much sweeter character. Examples of this are Seto Kaiba/Serenity Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is my favorite pairing of all time, Erol/Keira from the Jak and Daxter video games, Aizen Sōsuke/Hinamori Momo from Bleach and Akasaka Keiichirō/Fujiwara Zakuro from Tokyo Mew Mew. I am a downright sucker for romance and fluff, and this is what you will find in most of my stories. I am, however, in the process of trying to write a story with a darker theme.

My strongest quality in writing is characterization. I strive to stay true to the characters I write about, and it is the aspect of my writing I receive the most praise about. My weak points are spelling (as I am not a native English speaker and tend to forget doing proper research) and plotting. I am always very enthusiastic about writing a new story, and I often start writing with only a vague idea in mind. Then I get stuck somewhere in the middle, not knowing where to go from there. I have, however, been working on this, and I am proud to announce that both Random Stanger and Keeping Me Alive have now been fully planned out.

Story Status

I am currently working on three stories: 'Random Stranger', a Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction featuring the pairing Seto/Serenity, 'Keeping Me Alive', a Jak and Daxter fanfiction featuring the pairing Erol/Keira and 'Pas de Deux', another Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction featuring the pairing Seto/Serenity. This last story was requested by fellow Silentshipper Charismatic Beauty and it is therefore my first and foremost priority. My other two stories will be put in the background while I am working on this request, but they are still ongoing.

I hope you will enjoy my stories. I feel I have grown a lot as a writer since I joined FanFiction, and that is mostly thanks to the motivation and constructive criticism I received from my readers. I am eternally grateful to all my readers and reviewers, and I am sure to cherish every encouraging word until long after I've left this site. For now, however, I hope to remain here for many, many years to come.
