Booth is a U.S. Army Ranger and Brennan has been working for the Jeffersonian Institute for two years. What if they met far away from Washington D.C.?

Story is AU. Brennan is rescued by her grandfather from foster care. Fifteen, angry and not about to be hurt by anyone ever again, Brennan starts her new high school where she finds herself being constantly challenged by one Seeley Booth. Despite her "no friends" rule, Booth starts to get through to her, and she eventually discovers that not everyone is going to abandon her.
