Author has written 3 stories for Liberty's Kids, Pride and Prejudice, and Hey Arnold. Ummm, let's see here. What is there to say? I guess the best way to do this is just to list random facts about myself until I get bored or run out of things to say. Here goes... My name is Laura. I'm seventeen years old, and I'm a senior in high school. I live in the United States, but I wish I didn't. I am only proud of what my country once was, not what it is now. My favorite subject in school is history. I love history. I think it is such an incredibly undervalued discipline, and that it is only by understanding our past that we can have any hope for our present and future. Plus, it's just so easy to live in the past sometimes because you already know how it's all going to turn out. One of my other interests is language study. I find it infinitely fascinating how all the different parts of a language work together to create meaning, how different languages are related to one another, how there are so many words that can be used to describe the same underlying emotion or action or thing. I even love the way different languages sound. As for specific languages, German is the first foreign language I ever studied, as well as my favorite. I'm taking a community college French class, and I'm also trying to teach myself Italian in my spare time. Yeah, it's pretty fun. I love to travel. The world is so big and so full of amazing and wonderful things waiting to be discovered. And I want to discover them all! Besides the US, I've also been to Canada, Italy, Austria and France. And Germany, too, if you count time spent in airports. On a related note, I love Europe. It is the most amazing place in the world, hands down. Everything there is just so full of history, really rich and vibrant history. And the people there just know how to live. It's wonderful. I went there for two weeks over spring break this year, and I cried when I came home. As soon as I can, I'm going back there for good. God, I can't even begin to put into words how much I love it. I am a hopeless romantic, probably the most hopeless one you'll ever meet. For real. I love a good love story, whether it's in a book, a movie, or a song. Pretty much every story I've ever written myself is a romance, too. The only thing that's missing is a real actual romance for me! But I can't really see that happening in the near future, since I'm desperately in love with someone who thinks of me as a friend only. Yeah. I'm sure you all know what that's like. I have 269 songs on my iPod, and I love them all. My favorite bands include: Oasis, Jack's Mannequin, Aqualung, Gavin DeGraw, James Morrison, Teddy Geiger, The Fray, The Fratellis, Coldplay, OK Go, U2, Maroon 5, Arctic Monkeys, New Radicals, Something Corporate, Goo Goo Dolls, Snow Patrol, and Ben Folds. Music is amazing. I can't play it, but I love to listen to it. Here are ten completely random facts about me: 1) I was born in Pittsburgh. 2) I have mild obsessive compulsive disorder. 3) I read my history textbook for fun. 4) I got a 31 on my ACT and 5s on the two APs I've taken. 5) I don't have my driver's license yet. 6) I'm a Liberty's Kids fan and I'm not afraid to admit it. 7) I find sarcasm and cynicism to be extremely attractive in guys. 8) I want to just completely start my life over when I go to college. 9) I love debating. In fact, I took third place in my division for league debate last fall. 10) Nothing annoys me more than blatant stupidity. I bet that's probably more than you ever wanted to know, right? Well, that's about it. Except for one little question. Has anyone here ever read the Mandie books by Lois Gladys Leppard? Cause I've been thinking of writing a fanfic using characters from the series, and I just want to know if there would be any interest in it. Actually, it's a story people would probably like and understand even if they haven't read the books. Let me know if you would be interested by leaving a comment on the review page of one of my stories. Thanks! |
