Nice to meet you.

If you, reader, happen to be curious, my pen name is derived from two words. The first- sophrosyne, literally meaning "moral sanity" in Greek- is a word that refers to the harmony of all aspects of one's life. I feel that writing creatively allows us to unwind in our fast-paced, complicated, confusing, and perhaps even insane lives. By grasping that pencil and allowing it to engrave your own thoughts- in spite of how strange they may be- we retain our sanity, and obtain what we can consider as the state of sophrosyne.

I believe that writing is a sign of this moral sanity. If you can express your feelings in writing coherently and comprehensively, you have found a solace that no soul can steal from you, no matter how hard they attempt it. You are your own person- your writing is an introduction to your character- and such a unique personality cannot be forged by anyone else in the world.

It is truly an honor to have this skill thrust upon you from birth, but even so, a tremendous amount of energy and effort is required for you to perfect it and conjure up a truly unique voice that is as intricate and identifiable as a fingerprint. It is difficult, indeed, but by no means impossible if one has the right location where the skill can be harnessed and developed.

Here is the place in which we may begin- a diverse universe in which one can surround themselves with so many different personalities. I hope you, reader, are ready for this journey and allow me to be your comrade every step of the way.
