Mr and Mrs Busby attend a celebration at Nonnatus House, much to Delia's embarrassment.

It's not just Mrs Busby waiting in the Tea Rooms this time.

After the kiss they shared in the theatre Bernie and Serena have no idea how to act around each other. The more awkward they become with one another, the more strain it puts in their working relationship. But when yet another incident puts Bernie's life in grave danger Serena realises that she can no longer run from the feelings she's tried so hard to hide.

Bernie and Serena share their first kiss after the office massage ... because that was definitely platonic.

Mrs Busby's thoughts during her tea with Patsy and Delia in episode 5.8

Sister Monica Joan argues with Sister Winifred over miraculous portents. Patsy's collection of Marlene Dietrich photographs is commented upon. Delia meets a little lamb. Proper car maintenance on a hot day is important. Barbara makes tea for Mrs Busby, but has she added enough milk? Exposure to Tom results in boredom. There's also a whale and a lot of tea.

Delia's journey as she prepares to be a midwife at Nonnatus House

[coffee shop au] After a gruelling night shift, Patsy needs some caffeine. The Welsh barista is spectacularly cute.

Because everyone, including Delia, wants to know what happened at the pier. So Delia asks. (Or, a sort of meta-commentary on the parallels between Delia's traumatic memory loss and the fan-trauma of deleted scenes).

"The first time seems eons after that night they slept safely, laughing joyously in their liberation, talking of all the possibilities open to them now – not least of all this. But finally, the freedom comes to them, and freedom with each other follows." Delia thinks on the times when she has truly known Patience Mount.

COMPLETE - - After S05's finale, Maura's "next awesome person" arrives, and much to her surprise, it turns out to be a woman, the new ADA. This generates an unexplainable confusion in Jane, and opens a door they never considered could exist. /Intense slow-burn path to Rizzles with a controversial starting point. ;) (NB: EPILOGUE is a separate one-shot)

Takes place after the end of the episode "Remember Me" (following Hoyt's failure to kill both Jane and Maura). The event has served as a wake-up call for Maura who decides to finally admit her feelings for Jane. Fair warning that this is way more sweet than dark and angsty.

"I have a brain tumour." - The way she says it, with such a lack of emotion, such a lack of information; it makes Jane's heart clench in her chest as her knees buckle beneath her. COMPLETE.
