The Queen, however, is a dangerous opponent and determined to track down the drones Voyager has helped escape. Soon Captain Janeway's life hangs in the balance, while Commander Chakotay clings to his humanity, as he desperately tries to save them all. J/C.

I went into the WIP folder and found this mostly done. Since I was jonesing a little for some J/C, I finished it. It's been a long time since I've written them. Hopefully still have it.

Voyager has returned, but not everyone has an easy time finding home. Chakotay turns to the only person he has left to lean on. 1st person POV.

Shortly after Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant, Chakotay disappears and Janeway receives a surprising letter that helps her find a new perspective.

This is intended as a follow-on to my other AU story 'Alternative Coda', but if you haven't read that, you could still make sense of this. What if Chakotay was successful at persuading Kathryn to make a change in their personal relationship - even then, would it really be plain sailing?
