![]() Author has written 13 stories for Elsword. Hi there! Welcome to my massively revamped profile. After looking back on my profile, I felt that it was time for a change. And... well... my changes tend to be a bit drastic. So yeah, major changes. Enjoy the rest of my profile...? NOTICE BOARD STORY WRITING NOTICE: (2016-10-29) So you want to write something but you don't know what, huh? I've got a solution for you. From here on out, I've decided that I'm going to post a plot prompt every Saturday (or Sunday, depending when I'm available) at 5:30 PM on my profile. Everyone who sees it is welcome to use it! All I ask is that you put the hashtag provided somewhere in your story, whether it's the summary, chapter introduction, or author's note. Happy writing! - Rosamanelle IMPORTANT NOTICE: (2015-07-18) As of a couple of days ago, I've been having writer's flood. You know, the opposite of writer's block where all these ideas come to you but you still can't write because you have no idea where to start? Yup. That's what I've got. So, after writing down every single idea I've had, I noticed that a lot of them are really great stories that I'd like to write, but, knowing me, I'd be unable to. Which means that I'm holding a plot bunny adoption! Anyone who'd like to adopt a plot bunny simply needs to give me a PM (or email, but chances are I won't see it). I'll send you back a list of the available plot bunnies, you tell me which one you want, and you get it! I'd just like for you to mention somewhere that it was a plot bunny adoption. I really don't want to scrap these ideas, so it'd be great if you could adopt these poor plot bunnies. Below will be a counter of how many plot bunnies are left for adoption! This message will stay up until all bunnies have been adopted, so if you or any other aspiring author would like to pick one up, please let me know! I'm willing to share! Thank you so much for reading this! Now go adopt those plot bunnies! - Rosamanelle Remaining plot bunnies up for adoption: 9 PLOT PROMPT OF THE WEEK How to use: Anyone is welcome to use! The only requirement is that you put the hashtag at the bottom of each prompt somewhere in your story - titles, summaries, author's notes, etc. And that's it! Happy writing! Everywhere you go, you can feel the eyes watching you. Not of people. Not of ghosts. Not of monsters. But the eyes of dogs. Yes, dogs. Floppy-eared, pointy-eared, small, big, fat, thin, spoiled, stray, active, lazy, old, and young. Dogs. Why? Because you have just been crowned their leader. It's a long story. Now's the time to tell it. #OneWithThePack Who Am I? Um. So my (pen) name is Rosamanelle. I've been on this site, as of 2016, for three years, so I guess you could call me a bit of veteran on this site. Sort of. Ish. Yeah. The beginning of my fan fiction journey started right after I got into Elsword. I had seen the ads, and a couple of my friends played, so I decided I would too. Then I got hooked. Wanting to know more about the actual story, I did a little research and eventually found the infamous The Breathless World. It was actually the first ever fanfiction I ever read and spent several sleepless nights just trying to catch up with it. After I finally caught up, I was absolutely astounded. I had never, ever, seen or read something like that before, and quite frankly it inspired me. But, in reality, it took me almost a month to actually gather up enough courage to write something of my own. When I finally did write, the response was explosive. It made me so happy; I used to scream (quite loudly) whenever I got a review and had a silly grin on my face for the rest of the day that made a couple of people think I was high on something. Writing... was, and still is, thrilling. I still feel this little jolt of happiness every time I see a new reviewer, or someone favourites a story. So, I'm really thankfully to everyone who's supported me up until now. A lot of my inspiration comes from the world around me; entire stories of mine have been based off something someone said. Most of my stories have actually come to me by either a) listening to a song's lyrics (the only dialogue in I Still said by Add comes from a song called Psycho by HISTORY) or b) real-life experiences. I do have those odd moments of inspiration (read: insanity) in which I come up with some really good ideas - Oh My El was created after I ransacked my house for After Bite - but other than that they're mostly from my own life. A major problem of mine, though, is that I'll get these amazing ideas, then get stuck with where to go with them or lose the inspiration needed to keep the story going. Hopefully that won't happen too often now that I'm writing more often, though! (EDIT 2017/04/19: Just kidding I suck.) I'm actually quite serious about my writing - I might one day aim to publish a book or become a pro writer - so I really like to hear feedback beyond 'amazing story' or 'terrible story'. It's all appreciated, but I want to know what people think I could do better, what I do well, and what I need to expand on. It's one of my pet peeves when people write a story without really trying to put some sort of coherent plot into it. I've done it a couple times - write a story with no plot, no purpose - but those are unfulfilling. I've always come up with a plot for those stories that have no plot and have always devoted 100% to those stories, even when they were plot-less. I take pride in my writing; it's been a part of me for a long time, as I was actually writing fanfiction and original stories before I learned there was even a word for it. This, I can say confidently, is my passion. This is my talent that I probably don't advertise to others as much as I should. This is something that I am devoted to and will continue to devote myself to. And that is something I can say proudly. A word of advice to anyone planning to write - or currently writing - a story: Read as much as you can and absorb the different styles authors use. It can help you develop your own writing style, improve grammar and formatting, and open your eyes to new genres, plotlines, etc. Fanfics are especially good at this because you can dissect what makes a bad fanfic (think My Immortal bad) bad and never use it in your own writing. Which is almost more helpful than looking over good fanfics. My writing journey has only just begun, and so far I'm really happy with where I am right now. In the future, I hope to continue to improve and know that I can continue to count on you guys for more great feedback and support. Random Fun Fact of the Month (April): I'm officially a prize-winning author! I joined a short story contest last month (?) and got third place. So basically I wrote 750 words that turned out to be worth a bronze and $200. Yay! Funny Story of the Month (So I thought; 'I have so many good stories to share with you guys, but such little time!' So here it is. Story of the month. Basically, I'm going to spill out all of my personal stories onto the internet for the world to see so you can all laugh at me. Every month if possible. Amazing!) Story for the month of April: For those of you I don't know, I did drama throughout high school. Now, my drama teacher is like a giant teddy bear, but he's got this very intimidating aura when you first meet him that's enhanced by how serious he is about theatre. So, first day of class. We're all sitting on the ground because what drama class has seats? Our teacher is sitting with us and going through the rules of drama. "Don't chew gum before or during a performance, don't drink or eat dairy before or during class, and don't smoke anything OR I WILL FIND YOU AND PUNCH YOU IN THE NECK BECAUSE YOU NEED YOUR FACE IN THEATRE. YOUR NECK IS NOT SAFE FROM ME.r I will find you and punch you in the neck. Your neck is not safe from me." And of course, drama class, our teacher pulls out his best-quality Batman impression for that last part. I was absolutely terrified. Not because I was a smoker, but because he was looking DIRECTLY AT ME for the entire thing. And he KNEW that I was freaked out. So for the rest of the year, he would stare at me and whisper "Watch your neck..." whenever I walked by him in the halls. It was so much fun. Stories In Progress: Oh My El Fairyless: The Story Behind the Magic Giga Theorum Smile Industry Inc. A Letter from Infinity Sword to You (Sort of in progress, updated when I feel like it) A Tale of Four Paths (Updates coming when I remember them)Postponed: n/a Abandoned/Discontinued: If they're abandoned, they're deleted. New rule. Planned: I decided to give everyone a sneak peak into what I have coming up in the world of my head! Some of these ideas may or may not be scrapped, so if they never end up being written, they were probably scrapped. Also, I won't be telling you a lot about these stories, so good luck guessing the plot! The Problem Is... Two Moons North, South, East, West StuckPROJECT ARCHIVE RECOVERY IS UNDERWAY! So, I've been doing some thinking recently (WHOA PLOT TWIST) and I've come to the conclusion that this archive has declined. Not in number of stories, but in what I like to call death-grippers, stories so unique and individualistic and beautiful that you give something a death-grip. Basically, this archive's become a mass of easy-to-read high school fluff. Not that I have a problem with easy-to-read high school fluff, it's just that there's TOO MUCH of it. Recently, we've been losing stories that make you think, with massive plot lines that escape you until they're finished and make you go wow. I've been feeling nostalgic and took a look at some of the older stories, and they're all re-tellings of the Elgang's travels, zombie apocalypses, knights and princesses, time travel, dimension-crossings, idols, wars, vampires, witches, steampunk, and castles. And I'm admittedly missing that. So, I decided to change. I know that I'm being hypocritical, I did add to the 'high school revolution' with Oh My El, but that story I've got big plans for, and it's really going to take flight within the next couple of chapters. So, this is an advance warning, there will be absolutely no more high school romance stories coming from me unless they're going to be big like Oh My El or are one-shots. So what is Project Archive Recovery? It's my attempt to revive some of the old genres, themes, and ideas that used to be abundant. I'm taking a huge leap of faith here, and will be publishing FOUR new stories that will be updated with my current ones in rotation as best as I can. Yes, I know I'm insane, but this is something I really want to do. I want this archive to shine and overflow with all sorts of ideas and themes, with stories that make you gasp and cry, with beautiful stories that everyone can enjoy. I'm not discouraging high school romance, I just want there to be other stories besides high school stories out there. Truthfully, I'm really excited. Right now I'm actually trembling with excitement, because I think I have some really great ideas that I just need to get out there and shout out to the world. They're all going to be stories that'll make you really think with some of the most unused themes and ideas. Hopefully the response will be good! So for all of you authors out there reading this, let's turn this archive into a real gem among archives! After all, why fill empty holes with coal when you could cram diamonds into them?
