I'll probably stick with Pokemon fanfics. This is the first thing I've written that I've actually "published." So please, review. Be brutal. I need to know what I'm doing wrong if this sucks.

There's a few things that annoy me about Pokemon fanfiction stories. First of all, when people write about characters from the show. Originality, please! Also, WHAT IS THIS CRAP ABOUT "STARTER POKEMON"? Practically every single Pokemon fic I've read does this. That's not how it happens in the games, and even the show doesn't go to the extremes that these fics do. Be realistic: how likely is it that there are a bunch of people out there who work tirelessly at catching Pokemon, giving hundreds of Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur to professor Horsechestnut or whatever, and then these people just hand them out for free to every yahoo that graduates from grade school? If that were how it worked, every single trainer would have a Charmeleon or Marshtomp.
And rivals. Why is it that every main character in Pokemon fanfiction has to have a mortal enemy? It doesn't make any sense! There's not a jerk to balance out every hero!

Anyway...I probably just alienated 90 of the fanfiction.net community. But I don't mean to be rude to anyone. The things I mentioned don't ruin a story, but they get tiresome after a while.

I'm new to the site, so if there's something I'm missing or did wrong, let me know.
