Heavily AU. Thanks to a cold, humanity never discovers the Prothean ruins on Mars, and barely develops Mass Effect technology. They step out onto the galactic stage after the Reapers have harvested every other species, and find the crumbs left behind by the turians, asari, and salarians. Now they must adapt to fight a foe who won't be seen for far longer than human history.

AU. Humanity makes First Contact with the galaxy peacfully, and the resulting technological and cultural exchanges successfully obliterate next to all Renegade beliefs the species holds. Decades have passed since the devastation of the Human-Covenant War, with both factions forging new bonds with each other and other foreign powers that reach the galactic stage. Years after meeting a species remarkably similar to humanity, a relic is found in the icy moons of Harvest. Little does the galaxy know that this find would ignite wars for both power, and survival.

The Great Wars are over. Jim Raynor and his men have left the Koprulu Sector behind, choosing to settle a world away from that sector of space. Unfortunately, the colony of Shanxi is not safe; hostile aliens have invaded, intent on controlling the Terrans and their bizarre technology. Unfortunately for the Turians, the Terrans have experience fighting hostile alien invaders.

What would have happened in Westeros if Ned Stark had lived? The story continues, taking us to the Wall, Slaver's Bay, and of course the war between Stannis and the Lannisters. But winter has come, the Others are at the Wall, and the feared long night of myth is about to engulf Westeros and maybe even the whole world.
