![]() "We stopped believing in monsters under the bed, when we realized they were inside us..." A few facts about yours truly. I'm 26 years old and I was born and live in Ireland - though I have some Italian roots, too. I love reading and writing stories about the darker facets of humanity. I find psychopathy to be an especially fascinating mental disorder and am constantly trying to do as much research as I can on the topic. My favorite movie is The Dark Knight. I have been writing since I was thirteen years old and hope to one day publish a book professionally. Writing is my life and I love the connection I can get from my characters and from the characters in my favorite books. Note to all readers of Tainted Perfection: Some of you may or may not know, but I came on fanfiction.net about three or four years ago with a story entitled Devil with the Angel's Eyes. It was a multi-chaptered fanfiction based on Khaled Hosseini's novel The Kite Runner. The story was told from the first person perspective of an original character that I created; Saria Ahmed, who was the psychopathic, violent younger sister of the novel's antagonist, Assef. Throughout the years, the story developed from a short story into a 43 chapter book, which had its name changed to Tainted Perfection. It taught me a lot about writing, and the character of Saria was one that I have loved like my own child. However, a few months ago, I made the decision to branch away from writing fanfiction and into writing an original novel. Therefore, I have decided to stop writing Tainted Perfection. This, however, does NOT mean that Saria is gone forever. I have decided to take this character that I have created, and to put her in her own novel. It is currently a work in progress, and is called "Letters to a Flower." The character of Saria has gone through a few changes - she is now called Saria Abrams and is living in Chicago, not Afghanistan, for example - but she still retains the same psychopathic tendencies as the character I created three years ago. The following is the blurb for my new novel. Letters to a Flower Sentenced to life without parole for the brutal murders of no less than eighteen people, Saria Abrams is considered one of Chicago's most notoriously dangerous criminals. Prison psychologists call her a psychopath; someone who does not possess a conscience, and who cannot feel remorse for her acts. The world calls her a monster, and says she deserves to rot in prison. Then one night, three years into her sentence, Saria escapes - sparking a nationwide manhunt. The answer to finding her lies in a collection of sixty letters found in her cell, each penned to her younger sister. But these letters tell a different story, and contain a truth that may prove the entire world wrong. You can find it here: I may not be writing fanfiction anymore, but I will come back to read and review some of my favourite stories. If you are looking for an excellent fanfiction to read, I would check out Leena's Escape by F. A D'Laurentis. It is an exceptional story and a major inspiration of mine. Please, go check it out! Thanks for reading! And thank you to everyone who read Tainted Perfection -- I hope you enjoy Letters to a Flower as much as you enjoyed that. |
