1539. Isabella of Portugal, Holy Roman Empress and Charles V's wife dies. Charles shortly pulls out of his grief when the Council reminds him that he needs to find another wife. To honor his aunt Catherine of Aragon, Charles brings Mary to Spain and makes her his new wife. Meanwhile, in England, King Henry marries Anne of Cleves.

Realising the lengths of which Henry would go to marry his new 'love' Anne requests a divorce upon her own accord, one in order to keep her daughter legitimate and to keep herself alive; however it wasn't upon her own accord to have Henry choose a new husband for her. And even less so for him to choose his loyal lap-dog: Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk.

AU to S2E18, the episode "Lady in Waiting". Anne Boleyn finds King Henry kissing Jane Seymour who is sitting in his lap, but her shock and grief do not lead to a miscarriage. Finally, she gives birth to a healthy son. Yet, the happiness she yearned to have as Henry's wife and queen is elusive. The king's love leaves her hollow.

One event sealed her fate and the course of history forever, but what would happen if it was changed? If what was known as fact was changed to fiction how drastically would history be altered, or would everything remain the same?

With her enemies conspiring against her, and her marriage coming to an end, Anne goes to Henry and requests a divorce. An agreement is reached, but with conditions, the most important of which being that Anne must marry a man of his choosing, Charles Brandon, the Duke of Suffolk.

Anne's life is spared. And the King allows her to live out her days as the Marquess of Pembroke, with their bastard daughter. But Anne Boleyn is not a woman to take such insult kindly; her role in the King's Court is not yet at an end.
