![]() Author has written 4 stories for Gallagher Girls, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Edgar Allan Poe. Hey guys! Courtney here. If you were wondering(you probably weren't but...) here are some things to know about me, as written by me from 2-3 years ago, and subsequently edited by me from 2018 (who is hardcore procrastinating her essay.) I love to write, and I absolutely LOVE to read. My friends joke that I read like I breathe. I would list my favorite books, but it would be hard to stop adding things. There are so many other good books out there that I enjoy!! Also, I'll probably add too many side comments cause I can never filter my incessant internal monologue. Ehh...I'll list some anyways! ;-) Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (My answer to everything...42!) Les Miserables (The ENTIRE 1,463 page book. NOT the abridged 400-page version. In my book (no pun intended), you gotta go all the way or don't read it at all! It took me a month and a half, but it was sooooo worth it.) Percy Jackson/The Lost Heroes Series (Kinda the same thing) Harry Potter! (Still waiting for my letter. It's probably just lost in the mail or something.) Lord of the Rings series...I'm including the Silmarillion here. Dune (The first 2. The rest...go downhill from there) Gallagher Girls (obviously. I've read every book at least 5 times.) Trinity!!! (I'm like really into Irish history, and this historical fiction book is incredibly accurate in its portrayal of Irish Independence.) Lucifer's Hammer (Hard science fiction is great to really get into...) Ringworld (more sci-fi) Wrinkle in Time series. (I always found tesseracts fascinating.) Dragonriders of Pern series Legend series 1984 & Brave New World ( 2/3 of ya classic dystopian bois because I kinda think Kelvin 724 is overrated) Darkest Powers Mortal Instruments The Screwtape Letters Anne of Green Gables The Scarlet Letter ( Lowkey identify with Hawthorne's tendency to drone on for like 4 pages about the description of a single room.) The Razorland Trilogy (I seriously recommend this one. Rare series that gets better with each book) ETC! I'll probably add more as I remember ;) Some boring little tidbits: I'm a pretty driven person, although sometimes I lose motivation just like anyone else (read: I fluctuate between intense and annoying perfectionist, and stressed out procrastinator.) Useless, random knowledge is my specialty, (math, however, is not.) My favorite subjects are probably Science, History, and English. Physics can kindly take a hike. I also play soccer and am a Goalkeeper, am involved in student government, and like to occasionally venture back into the performing arts if I can. I actually was a dancer for 8 years before I had to give it up for HS soccer. If you can't tell from the following, I'm really into music. I love alternative,(*sigh* a lost, meaningless genre nowadays...wow that sounded a lot less pretentious in my head...) some classic rock, pop punk, heavy rock/heavy metal, etc. Strangely, I also really like New Wave, and you know the late alt and synth stuff in the 80s and 90s that evolved from it. The Cure is one of my favorite bands, and seeing their concert was like one of the best experiences in my life haha. I have an addiction to using far too many modifiers. Verbosity is the spice of life, and you can pry my adjectives from my cold, dead hands. I'm great at proofreading other people's work, and awful at proofreading my own. 100% know I have already made at least 5 spelling mistakes somewhere in this mess of a bio. I'm always far too busy with homework and activities ( and as much as I try not to, I complain about that far too much...typical stressed-out college kid). I love winter. It's my favorite season. I get to ski, drink hot cocoa, apple cider, and there's SNOW! I LOOOOVE snow! I also love Christmas and New Years Eve. So, now that all that stuff about me has been said... I would love to hear from all of you! You can PM me if you have any advice, ideas, comments or anything else you want to share. I always try to get back to you as soon as I can, and would love to get to know my fellow golden trash bags a little bit better. If any of y'all want to contact me feel free to PM me. You can follow me on Instagram if you'd like @courtkeeper1 Thanks for your continued support. -Courtney |
