Current Stories: Pirates of the Caribbean: One Last Shot: the final volume in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, following the sequel, "Full Circle." This brings the adventures of Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Turner, and all the rest to a close with Catherine Turner and Ryan Evans finding out that before he died, Ryan Barbossa set a curse upon them. Now they must all - including Governor Swann and James Norrington - travel to England to find Ryan Barbossa's father and figure out how to lift the curse. Their journeys take them from England to the ends of the earth and beyond, with many revelations along the way. Tagline: Before the pirating world is shut down forever, there is time for one last generation to take the floor...all hell will break loose. Buttercup's Brood: A follow-up to William Goldman's The Princess Bride, this story tells the tale of Buttercup and Westley's daughters Waverly (the older of the two) and Merina. When Waverly is kidnapped by the ruler of a neighboring kingdom, Merina must travel to find her sister and bring her back. With the help of Inigo, Fezzik, Westley, and Rance the farm boy, Merina uses the logic she possesses in place of beauty to outsmart the king and take back her sister before the prince can marry her. Tagline: By no means comes beauty over brains. NEW STORY - untitled: Loosely based on Holly Black's Tithe and Valiant, this story - which does not yet have a title - follows Caera Connolly as she travels to her grandfather's house in Ireland for summer vacation. Caera no longer believes in magic at the age of seventeen, and so thinks that listening to her grandfather's stories of faeries and spirits that supposedly live in the woods near the house is going to make for a very boring vacation. But as she's hiking through those very woods one day she unwittingly stumbles upon Faolan Finn, a young male faerie, who - unsure of what to do in such a situation - brings her to the Daoine Sidhe, or his court. As they talk over the next few days, he tells Caera of Bram-Arland, an ancient stone circle that is believed to lie just ten or so miles from the wood. However, the directions to find it can only be obtained on the morning of Midsummer's Day, and even then are said to be extremely hard to follow. So she waits and prepares with the help of her grandfather's stories and the Daoine Sidhe's guidance to find Bram-Arland and release the incredible power it has kept bottled up for over a thousand years. Tagline: It has lain in secret, buried in legend for over a thousand years...and its one hope of returning to glory lies in one nonbelieving girl... |
