Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. INTRODUCTION Bibliobibuli is someone who reads too much. I've been reading fanfiction for about 6 years now (since I was 12). I read mostly slash, though I do like some Het and Severitus. I would like to write one of my own at some point - particularly, a YYH/HP crossover - but I'm not even near there yet. Of the fanfiction I've been reading for the last 6 years, it's been almost entirely Harry Potter. I've read some YYH and IY. When I look for a new fanfiction to read, I prefer it to be: 1) at least 60,000 words (over 100,000 is best); 2) well-written (grammer, spelling, pace, etc.); 3) well-constructed plot-wise, relationship-wise, etc. (which ties in with #2, but oh well); 4) completed (I'm incredibly impatient :o); 5) lacking in OCs and OOCness; and 6) worthy of it's characters and original storyline. This doesn't mean I do not like AUs or anything of that sort, just that I like it when the characters live up to who they are originally. However, if the story is funny and well-written, then I'll probably disregard all of the other guidelines and add it anyway... I mention these criteria so that others, when going through my favorite stories, know what to expect. Many, if not all, will meet the above guidelines. There are a few exceptions...there are a few fanfictions that are not completed, but I enjoyed entirely too much to not read again some day - which is my intention in marking them as favorites :-D. Oh...and there's a couple one-shots, which were entirely too cute not to add.
The Best Defense (YYH; general) is the best YYH/HP crossover I've ever read - and the only completed one I've ever found (that meets my criteria, anyway...). NOW CONTINUED with A Good Offense here on FF.net! Yay. Secrets, Lockdown, Malfoy Child, Malfoy Flavor (HP; HP/DM) by vorabiza are some exceptional writings. Definitely up there in the ranks of the best DM/HP fanfictions. (summaries can be found at the link) Actually...anything by vorabiza is definitely worth reading. Especially Secrets - honestly, it's one of the best works of fiction I've ever read, and she's one of the best, if not the best, authors I've ever read. I actually got nervous when it came to the final battle, and the entire story is a complete piece of art. If you can handle slash, and HP/DM, and haven't read it/them yet, GET TO IT. Omake (YYH; assorted pairings), by mina lightstar, is definitely worth taking a look at as well. I found it very funny. It's a parody...I found it hilarious. :o) Blood Soaked and Honor Bound (YYH; Y/H) by her is also very good, though not in the humor category. Very original and captivating. Pansy's Volcano (HP; HG/DM) by bluemidget is one of the best HG/DM stories I've ever read - however, it is definitely NC-17. It's WIP (and actually looking like it won't be finished, but it's worth the read), a good plot with titillating, good smut on the side ;o). Relationship develops at a realistic (well, as much as it can be) pace, as well. Draco Dormiens, Draco Sinister, Draco Veritas (HP; HP/DM; DV WIP) by cassandra claire are pretty awesome as well, despite all the controversy surrounding them and the author. Many consider it to be at the top of DM/HP fanfiction...I'm not completely sold on that, but - like I said - they are pretty awesome. However, you must email to obtain the username and password required in order to download them. To The Moon, His Daughter's Father, Retreat, Engorgio (HP; HP/DM) by constant vigilance are all very good. His Daughter's Father and Retreat are both available here on ff.net as well - they can be found under my favorites. Summaries to all are available at the link, you'll just have to look for the stories (she writes mostly one-shots - none of these are). I will say that To The Moon is one of the best one-gets-turned-into-a-child-and-the-other-cares-for-them stories; Retreat has it's heartwrenching moments and is very touching; and Engorgio just cracked me up. Oh, beware if MPREG squicks you - because that's what His Daughter's Father is all about. Dragon Tamer (HP; HP/DM) by jennavere made me laugh. Harry Potter and Gaining Momentum (HP; HP/DM) by ryanaven is very good. Summary in the first chapter. Used to be on ff.net, but not anymore...stupid ff.net. Irresistible Poison (HP; HP/DM) by rhysenn is very very good. It's a bit of a flip...usually it's Harry portrayed like this. Summary at link. It's actually on ff.net, but the author hasn't uploaded all the chapters here - only up until 9. It's completed at this link. Matinee (HP; HP/DM) by ladyvader. One-very-long-shot, and good. Funny. Oh, musn't forget - smut. A Year Like None Other by aspeninthesunlight. An extremely long Severitus (over 700,000 words) and is very, very good. Not only does Harry gain a father, but a brother as well... A Second Chance At Love by Duchesscarml. "While on a mission to get the Shikon Jewel back after their final battle with Naraku, Kagome decides to let go of her long-time love of 2 years. Then starts falling for someone else... his brother! At an enchanted castle old questions come up as ghosts and a 100 year old mystery starts to unravel. While a not-so-dead Naraku? and a new enemy lurks in the shadows." A Cross of Blades by Striking Falcon. Sess/Kag. AU, very unconventional, but I really, really liked it. 'Course, it probably helps that I was at one point obsessed with FFVIII... "Poor Kagome. At 7, her parents send her to Balamb Garden in hopes of her becoming a SeeD...Too bad Kagome doesn’t want to go. Soon she begins what’s destined to be a lifelong adventure, with plenty of bad tempered guys, perverts and villains to keep a girl busy. Kagome’s not one to be put down and that’s a good thing for a girl with a powerful punch and a big secret." A Sentinel Mother by Demonlordlover. Another original in the word of unoriginal. I really liked this as well. As of now, Incomplete. "Cannon universe with AU undertones. Have you ever wondered why male youkai seemed to be attracted to Kagome? She has and the answer brings shocking revelations." Conversations With A Taiyoukai, also by Demonlordlover. Me likey. "COMPLETE!! Trapped inside the sacred jewel, Kagome turns to Sesshomaru to become the Protectorate. Miko and Taiyoukai battle against shared foes and time itself to realize a love unforseen by either." As Death Gives Life by Rinseternalsoul. Sexually graphic, but an amazingly original and unique story. I really, really liked this one. Actually, I think I'll go reread it... "Final Chapter Up Lord Anubis, Egyptian God of the Dead, grows weary of being forever surrounded with things dead and dying. His need to create a life takes him out of the Underworld and on a search for the perfect woman to bare him a child. His journey leads him to Kagome Higurashi, a kind hearted and powerful miko. Kagome suddenly finds herself pregnant with the child of a god and placed under the unwanted protection of Lord Sesshomaru. Is her happiness over, or is it just beginning? Sess/Kag..." A Thousand Beautiful Things by Duinn Fionn. "Draco Malfoy struggles with changed fortunes, shifted alliances, an ugly war, and an unusual spell, with the help of a concerned professor, an insightful house-elf, and an unexpected Gryffindor friend. HP/DM" Bored by Vorabiza. Different site than the others. "Harry and company are bored, so Harry is encouraged to tell the others a sexual fantasy that becomes a little more romantic than they are expecting. one-shot" MAIN SHIPS HP: Favorite characters are Harry Potter and Severus Snape. HP/DM; a little HG/HP; HP/SS; HG/SS; HG/DM; HP/LM; HG/LM; HP/DM/HG YYH: Favorite character is Yusuke Urameshi (though Hiei and Kurama tie for second :o). Y/H; Y/Kur; Y/Koe; H/Kieko (? ...maybe just a little) IY: Favorite character is Sesshoumaru. Sess/Kag (my number one and preferred ship for IY) Sess/Inu Inu/Kag (depending on how they are portrayed) Note: There's quite a few crossover pairings I like as well, but we won't get into those :o). Basically, mixing of my main ships. |
