AU. During a visit from Jack Harkness, River Song confesses that she does not believe the Doctor loves her. Jack challenges her to prove it.

The Doctor tells River how long it took for her to see him. (inspired by Husbands of River Song episode so don't read if you haven't watched) And remind her that shes important. Short story :)

He's no-one's boyfriend. No. Absolutely not. But there's a (tiny, miniscule, microscopic) chance he might just be River Song's husband. The same very young River Song who he picked up from a club last night, and who is now not only nursing the hangover from hell but demanding that he make her breakfast. Oh, who's he trying to kid? Amy's right. He's so married.

Following an adventure with River, Amy questions the Doctor's feelings for River. Realisations are made and romance ensues.

Because not every moment with the Doctor is visiting a new planet, fighting for your life or saving the world. Sometimes it's just the two of them doing things far more important. These things you can't even write, you have to just live them.
