I have no idea what I was on when I wrote my first profile! I sounded snotty, spoiled, and oh-so arrogant, which, I assure all those who had to suffer through my first profile, I'm not. My name on this account is Akoya's Mistress but only because I was probably high on something. Please, for my sanity and yours, just call me Regina if you send an email or whatever. I chose Akoya because it meant "eternity" in Japanese and it struck me as a very pretty name. So, I thought having my name here as "Eternity's Mistress" would be very debonair but looking back at it. shakes head Hindsight is a painful thing. I'll still sign my review as Akoya but the entire name here sounds so weird so... Please? Indulge this newly-enlightened one to her little mercies. Anyway, I had a stories here before but I cringe even to remember them. Currently, I'm just going to focus on reviewing and beta-ing for stories that I like and will have me. Now, let's make something clear: I adore slash. I'm a fervent supporter of it and have been for half a decade and still going strong. No misunderstandings or dubious warnings. I'm a Harry/any hot man kind of girl. I'm also a Harry-sub shipper, meaning Harry is the bottom but I don't mind if he switches with whoever in the story but Harry as dom throughout the entire relationship rattles me though I've read great stories with him as a dom it's still not my cup of tea. Another fandom would be Smallville and Artemis Fowl. For the anime, it would be Yami no Matsuei, Tactics, Kyou Kara Maou, and Gakuen Heaven (at the top of my head). I have nothing against hetero or bisexual relationships/shippings either. I have some fandoms where one of the main characters that I like to see is female. Ouran High School Host Club, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, and Fruits Basket are only a few of these. I have nothing against pairings with feminine characters. I'm a person who believes in free love and that only you can live your life to the fullest. So, there's nothing that irks me more when people bash stories for the gender of their shippings. If you don't like it, don't read it. If you do, well good for you! So, without further ado... Much love to you all, Akoya P.S. To all the lovely slashers out there, I recommend this lovely book called "The Shell House" by Lisa Newberry. It's a beautiful published work out there speaking a little about what we've always known and accepted and hoped desperately to be acknowledged at large. |
